6 years and 4 months and what an amazing summer!

Happy 6 years and 1/3rd sweet, Aspen!!! :)  

What an amazing month this has been! You've had a great summer and this Dee Dee's heart is overwhelmed with thankfulness. Pops and I pray every single day for you to remain healthy and for the drugs in trial that can impact your life. We pray for a CURE for CF and so much more for you sweet boy! 

You started out the month going to pick peaches at Southern Belle Farms with Nelly and Co-Chri! You also went to the fireworks and rides in Loganville. Dee Dee and Pops were in Canada and we sure did miss going with y'all. 

Dada found this cool drum set in the garbage at work! Work has extra perks sometimes! You were pretty excited! 

YAY! We are home from 10 days in Canada and Montana and we are SO happy to see you all! 

You are a swimming machine! You love to swim and you're really good too! You love to do cannon balls and jump off the diving board and to play with your Dada! I'm so proud of you! 

Happy 4th of July! Your Dee Dee loves you three something fierce!!! Dee Dee bought y'all these outfits to play in for the 4th. TOOOO cute! :) 

Dee Dee doesn't get in very often but when I do.... I love to document it! LOL

SUPER excited that we are doing fireworks for the 4th...

This is the first year that we bought quite a bit of our own stuff! 

Waiting for the show.... It rained and stopped. Rained and stopped but we got it in! 

You three are cute together!

You still love all things games... and I LOVE it! 

Dee Dee bought y'all a bubble glove! It was a little tricky to use but it was fun...

I love how silly you are! You are so much like your Dee Dee in so many ways. I hope you keep your fun-spirited personality! 

We went to Covington to CELEBRATE Dee Dee's annual CT body scan! 2 1/2 years cancer-free! I am giving all the PRAISE and the GLORY to the Lord for this great report. We went to Amici to celebrate and you three had to catch bugs in the park before leaving.... ha! 

We went camping at Black Rock Mountain State Park! It's been SOOO hot and it was SO nice to be in the mountains! We actually needed a jacket at night. You love to roast marshmallows and to play with a fire. I pray protection over your lungs!  

You are a HIKER and Dee Dee's heart is overwhelmed with happiness. I love to watch you get excited. You hiked to the top of the mountain and earned the right to be called a TRUE HIKER! That meant that you could get a Camelback for your water and you were pretty pumped! 

You love to be the leader. Dee Dee did the same thing when I was your age... LOVE! 

You found this snail and carried it almost the entire time...

I think it's SO cute when you ask me to take your picture! 

We made it to the top! I am SUPER proud of you. We had some talks this month about how exercise and hiking is SUPER good for your lungs and health. I hope you'll remember the hikes that we go on and have memories flood your mind! :)

We left Dada fishing at Black Rock Lake... so we caught up with him so you could fish for a little bit! 

We went to Clayton and to Wander... your Mommy loves this store!

You had your clinic visit this month! It was such a long day! You had to be at CHOA for a 7:30am CT scan and didn't have to be to clinic until 1:40. 

You had a great clinic visit! :)  This is what I was able to share with your prayer warriors!

Aspen went to clinic and had his CT scan of his lungs. What a PRAISE!!! 💜💜💜

💥 No changes since last December so the doctor doesn’t think his lack of weight gain is due to any changes in his lungs. 
💥 He only gained 10 ounces since May but his growth spurt slowed down so his BMI went slightly up.
💥 His PFT’s (pulmonary function test) was the highest it’s been since fall 2017!!!! 🙌🏻💜🙌🏻💜🙌🏻
💥 PT visited him this time and were impressed with his hiking and swimming. Praises to our God for a wonderful visit.

He’s going to participate in a research study in the fall and doesn’t have to go back to clinic for THREE months!!! (It’s been a while since we could wait that long). 🙏🏻

He goes back on October 8th. Thank you for keeping sweet Aspen in your prayers!

You went to Target with your Mommy and got this special game to play while you waited at clinic...

You two also had a special Chipotle date! You reminded us this month that Chipotle, jerky, pizza and wings were your favorite things! You love you some hot stuff... just like Dee Dee! :) 

Clinic can be boring!

Doing your PFT's! You blew a 102% and your best in almost 2 years! YAY!!!! 

You came home to show us how to play your cool new game! 

Your Mommy went to Virginia/West Virginia this month with Dee Dee and Pops! We had so much fun hiking...

Nelly and Co-Chri met up with us in Charlottesville, VA and we were able to do a small hike together! 

You spent 2 nights with Nelly and Co-Chri and stayed with your Dada! 

Your Mommy came home on Sunday and Dee Dee and Pops stayed until Wednesday. It's always good to get home and hug you two! 

I love the big hugs you have for me! :) Your excitement makes this Dee Dee's heart so thankful! 

We brought y'all a shirt back from Shenandoah National Park...

Your Osprey also came while we were gone...

New hair cuts for school! You are going into 1st grade and your teacher will be Mrs. Strickland...

We had a special Dee Dee night. We went to Longhorn's and you wanted a steak! Too cute! 

You played ball in the yard with Pops when we got home...

We had some craft time...

and did a "states" puzzle! 

Dee Dee even let you sleep in my bed...

The next day we had Bennett too and we went to the pet store. Mommy was at the doctor! 

We went to the park while Dada had an in-grown toenail removed...

Back to school shopping at the outlet mall in Dawsonville....

We had a 12 hour day shopping and it was so much fun! You two were really good! 

You thought this butterfly was hilarious!

Your last Sunday before school starts back. Pops and I took y'all to Stone Mountain to climb it and watch the Laser Show!

We got Panda Express and saw a rainbow in the parking lot!

SO many amazing memories this summer! SO many fun things! A great report from clinic. A summer to be thankful for. 

Your clinic visit went so well that you don't have to go back for THREE months! It's been a while since you could go that long and we are super grateful. 

Prayer needs: 

* Continued weight gain

* Lungs to remain healthy as possible

* Aspen's school year and his teacher

* To make lasting friendships and good choices at school 

* For a healthy fall/winter

* The triple combo drug in trial to be effective and to get approval through the FDA quickly 

A CURE for CF! 

* As you begin to learn more and more about CF, that you will process things well and keep your determined, fighting spirit! 

* Praise and prayer request that you will continue to like to be active and to exercise

Grateful for this summer and for you sweet, Aspen! Your Dee Dee couldn't love you more!
