Your first month to go to school... You're in Pre-K! You're growing up so quickly!

What a wonderful month of "firsts!" It's hard to believe you are now in school!!!! You are going to Grayson United Methodist Church Pre-K, 4 days a week! You go Monday-Thursday from 9:30-1:30. You love it!  More on that later. :) I'm so grateful you had such an awesome month.

What a great picture to start with! Thumbs up to August! We started the month with Dee Dee and Pops in Oregon. You and Mommy, Dada and Bennett went to Helen and went fishing! You love sharks and all things fish.

Dada has been on "residential" and hasn't been home at night before you went to sleep for three nights. You were SO happy to see your Dada!

Your net was the best investment...

You caught a fish! LOL

Dee Dee and Pops got home on the 31st and were SO happy to see you!

We went to the Pacific coast and we had to bring you something with a "shark" on it...

We also went to Scoops and celebrated...

You love to bag your own candy...

We also went to the Story Shop in Monroe... what a fun store!

You were SO excited to get your hair cut. I think that's so cute. You said your hair was almost down to your eyes... so you needed a cut. ha!

You've ridden your Spider Man bike a little more this month...

Oh my heart! Literally! :) We went to Office Depot and you saw these purple heart key-chains. You wanted to buy me one. You paid for it at the register and everything. I bought you one too. I'll keep it forever...

Always climbing and jumping... even in Lowe's! HA!

You weren't as entertained with Bennett wanting to lay with you as B was...

We went to Walmart and Dee Dee bought you a Play-doh kit. We came home and made all sorts of things...

You LOVE to make PB&J sandwiches at our house and homemade chocolate milk. Too cute!

Me and you and Mommy went school shopping and we also went to Taqueria Del Sol... I love your sense of humor!

We got yogurt and went to Gap and TJ Maxx... or PJ Maxx as you call it!

It makes my heart so happy that you can go to church now... We pray every night that you will stay healthy!

Open House at your new school! You have a Bennett in your class! Your teacher's name is Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Robin!

We went to Freddy's to meet Granny and Papa for ice cream...

You were really excited to give Papa a hug!

Nelly got a worm sundae too!

Your first day of Pre-K! What a perfect shirt for you..."Adventure is Calling!"

I love this picture of you and your Mommy!

I'm so grateful you had a big thumbs up for your first day of school...

LOL! You are so silly...

Dada wasn't sure he could make it but thankfully he was working in Grayson that day! You were so excited to see him.

SO sweet. You had gone to your chair but had to come back to give Mommy one more hug! Precious!

I'm so proud of you, Aspen!

Mrs. Maria walking you out to the car on your first day...

It rained on your 2nd day of school. You got a new umbrella while we were school shopping. This picture is so sweet. You call an umbrella a rainbrella. You can't wait for Thomason to get here so you can walk up to Dee Dee's with your rainbrealla. TOO cute!

You love to help Dada and Pops! They are replacing the cabinets in your camper because of water damage...

You hit B in the head with a piece of wood while we were outside. He said you hit him but we didn't know for sure so everyone just forgot about it. A few minutes later, Bennett had blood dripping down from his head LOL and said that you hit him. Mommy asked you if you hit him and you said, "NO! Sometimes kids just have these things happen!" (We should have known then...haha). A few minutes later Mommy asked you again and you said...."Maybe he fell. Maybe he....xxxx!" After a long talk you finally admitted that you hit B. I'm hoping you'll remember this night and tell the truth! We couldn't help but laugh later though. :)

Playing with an airplane that we brought you back from Oregon...

I love to watch you run...

And I love to watch you run up the hill to my house! Sometimes you'll stop and pick me a flower and this day you said..."Dee Dee...you are precious and I love to get you flowers!" #meltedheart

We bought you a dinosaur egg fossil at Publix. You had SO much fun...

You finally got the dinosaur out. :) I had you some cookies to take home but you wanted carrots instead. LOL  Turns out you saw carrots on Ryan's toy review. You said..."Guess what? I saw the tooth fairy. When I lose a tooth he will come and leave money under my pillow. I saw that on Ryan's toy review."  hahaha

One cool Dude with your CF sunglasses and Pop's hat!

We went camping at Fort Yargo. It's our first time to go in August and it was HOT!

We were happy to see Kona ice...

We played on the playground while Mommy and Dada tried out paddle boarding!

We saved our cups and Mommy and Dada got refills on our kona ice! :)

You and Bennett played a lot with our new fan!

and climbed on everything you could find!

You didn't want to leave Dee Dee and Pops after camping. You cried that night and said you wanted to stay in your bedroom at Dee Dee's! I love that you love that you have your own bedroom.

You are so cute putting puzzles together...

Yes you are so big and strong! :)

You ate dinner with us and chowed down on the fruit...

You will climb on anything. haha

Dee Dee bought you some new shirts! You wanted to try them on. TOO cute! You wanted to wear them but it was 95 outside. haha

You call chocolate milk your "favorite meal" to make at Dee Dee's! You always drink it though! :)

You came to play with Dee Dee and was NOT ready to leave. This is the first time you've hidden. haha!

Mommy let you go with me and Pops and you were excited. We went to Nelly's to put Thomason's crib together.

You helped... SO.MUCH.FUN!

It's hard to believe the progress that you've made in a month! You went from not getting your head wet to jumping off the diving board. SO proud of you! You love to play with Steven.

You love Rosemary and I love that you do! Sweet!

We were getting a picture with Rosemary and you jumped in. I love that!

You two make my heart so full!

Total eclipse day! I'm so grateful we could all go and watch this together. What a cool experience. We were in the 99% area, so it didn't go totally dark but it was SUPER cool.

You loved looking up and understood so well that you needed to keep your eyes covered.

You're such a cool Dude! :)

We went to Scoops to get an "eclipse sundae" afterwards...

We came home and played a matching game that we bought at the Story Shop!

Bow Valley brought a turtle up to the house... Mommy bought you special gloves to hold it with. We had to let it go but it was fun...

Your annual CF appointment is a LONG day! We had to be at CHOA at 9:30am for your CT scan. Co-Chri surprised you with a prize from Nelly! You were supposed to be sedated but they said they could try to do it without. YOU DID IT!!!! We went outside to a mobile trailer (they are getting a new CT scanner inside) and you were SUPER still. They offered you stickers when you were done but you said, "I just want to go see my Dee Dee!" #warmsmyheart

It's always fun to go and see the fish! Nemo lives there! :)

We went to Whole Foods for lunch. I love that you love a fruit tart like Dee Dee!

We had to go to the clinic after lunch for your annual visit. Your BMI went down to 6% but it's because you have grown so much. You were 3 feet and 7 inches and are in the 85th% for height. What a praise that is. CF can stunt your growth if you aren't processing your nutrition very well. You weighed 37 pounds, which is lower than it had been but you've shot up! The doctor didn't seem too concerned.

Your favorite part is respiratory. You get to "play this game" and blow out the candles. I'm so grateful you view it as a game. You did really well. They said you need to hold your "blow" just a little longer.

They swabbed your throat to get a culture to see if you are growing any bacteria. We are sure praying not.

Dr. S came in and said the results of your CT scan were "excellent!" You have an area on the right lung that is either mucus plugs or permanent damage. If it's a plug, a new medicine could possibly flush this out. You started a new medicine pulmozyme (you've been on this before) and will probably stay on this for the rest of your life. It can also help to flush out germs you may pick up at school.

You were so over this day by the time she wanted to listen to your lungs. We were in this really small room for about 3 hours without leaving. That's a long, long time for all of us! Dr. S said your lungs sound clear. SO thankful.

When we were almost home we saw a LOT of bicycles riding down the road. One of the bikers started toward the center line and I yelled at them to get out of the road. You said...."Dee Dee, You're the one driving and you have to watch out for the bicycles because the camper people said SO!" bahahahahaha

We got home and Dada had cleaned the house and started dinner. HOW sweet that was! You and B were getting out your energy that built up during the day. haha!

We ALL went to church today for the first time. It was so exciting! You wanted to come home with us. You ate deviled eggs and strawberries and part of Nelly's lunch from Taco Bell. You LOVE hot sauce and I love that you do! :) Your appetite at lunch time has really increased. We're praying that will help you keep your weight on this month.

You love Miss Jenna and Mrs. Michele. You came up to have pizza with us and swim!

We chased down lightening bugs and came inside when the bugs started biting. I love playing with you!

Dee Dee picked you up for the first time from Pre-K! I loved seeing the smile on your face! Before we pulled away you were already asking to go back to Dee Dee's house! :)  You love to show how much of your lunch you ate. Your appetite has really increased for lunch since school started. You are so cute when you talk about getting "hot lunches" from school. I laughed so hard when your Mommy said that she said...."Aspen... guess what???? You get a grilled cheese today" And you said, "REALLY? I don't believe you!" hahahaha

We went by Publix and you picked gummy worms and tomatoes for your snack. hahahaha!

I loved hearing about your day but before I did... this is what you said....
"One day when I get bigger, bigger, bigger I'm going to ride up here (pointing to the other seat) and there's nothing you can do about it, PRECIOUS!" bahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

😳🤣😂😳😍

You said... Your other name is Precious. And Pops is Dudie and Mommy is Boo Boo. Dada and Co-Chri are Chris and Nelly is.... ummmmm!!!! hahaha

It's the end of a wonderful summer! What a blessing this summer has been. You have been healthy and your CF appointment went SO well. You had a cold after the first week of school but it went away easily and without medicine! What a praise! You LOVE school. It seems like you've grown 6 months in your first few weeks of school.

I love your humor.... how you laugh at silly things like Dee Dee! You are so observant and aware of things.  In so many ways you are a mini Dee Dee and I love that! You pay attention to detail. SO cool for a 4 year old.  I tell your Mommy you're going to make a great husband one day. You have a stubborn streak that your Mommy and Dada are trying hard to break. I'm praying that will come in handy one day. I'm praying if your treatments for your CF get longer and harder that you'll let that stubborn streak kick in and you'll give it your all! Always!  Today, you ended up in a laundry basket because you wouldn't stay where Mommy put you for time out for not listening. haha

You are a blessing and I'm grateful that you live next to Dee Dee. It's almost been 3 years since you moved next door and I can't imagine it any other way. Doing was such a beautiful day with a fall breeze in the air. I can't wait to see what an amazing month September will be. We're going to Florida! You are going to start going to church on Wednesday nights. Mommy and Dada are going to help with Bennett's class. I'm SO excited for y'all. So much has changed in the last month but it's all such amazing things.

Excited for what's to come...

If you are one of Aspen's faithful prayer warriors... we would love for you to pray about these things:

* That Aspen's BMI would increase...that he would gain some weight.

* For Aspen to stay healthy during the flu and winter season coming up

* For the results of the culture to come back negative for any bacteria

* That the new medicine would completely clear up his chest x-ray

Thank you for praying for Aspen!!!

I love you sweet Aspen!!! To the moon and back and back again....!
