8 years and 10 months - we had SNOW this month!

Happy 8 years and 10 months sweet, Aspen!

What a month this has been! We started the month with our family recovering from COVID. I continue to give ALL the praise and the glory to the Lord that all of our family did well (enough) with COVID and no one had to be hospitalized. You spent several hours at CHOA for dehydration but bounced back really quickly otherwise. Your ending your birthday month with a cold. We aren't sure where you got the cold because we haven't been anywhere to get a cold - but I sure am praying your cough will get better and am thankful that your sore throat is better. Your Mama is putting all the oils and you and knows just what vitamins to give you! I'm sure you will be well soon.

We've spent a good portion of the month getting back to normal after having COVID. We've had some warm days to play outside and today - on the beginning of your birthday month - the high is going to be 36 degrees. It's going to be 66 degrees on Sunday, so we are at the start of the crazy swing in temperatures.

You loved the pellet gun we gave you for Christmas - but you've lost it for a month! ðŸĨš Your Mama and Daddy are having a lit bit of problem with your smart mouth and deliberately doing things to get into trouble and even a few incidences of lying or sneaking behind your Mama's back! I sure am praying you'll lose the smarty attitude you've had this month. When we had COVID, we think you were acting out because you were scared that we actually had the "germ" we've been talking about for 2 years. Dee Dee prays every day for you. There are so many things in life right now that are hard to understand. I'm praying protection over your sweet heart! 💛

You have LOVED the roller skates that Pops and I gave you for Christmas. I'm so glad. You could barely stand up when you got them and now you are flying down the driveway. It's both fun and scary to watch you. Pop's rollerbladed with you one day and you were super impressed. You ask almost every day for him to join you again. He's just not sure he wants to do that again! ðŸĪĢ

You can be so silly!

You love the shoot things more than just about anything! You and Pops were aiming at water bottles!

Roller skating to get the mail! ðŸĨ°

You love to watch an episode of Outdoor boys in the basement!

Hunter and fisher CHAMP!

I love to watch the sun set in our backyard! Now we get to watch the sun set beside your cabin too!

Watching YouTube videos on the porch with Pops! If we are outside on the porch and y'all hear us... you call our names! It's the cutest!

You love to play with fire! LOL I love to watch you laugh and cut-up!

Your Mama has been trying new recipes. You weren't a fan of dinner but you love you some cantaloupe!

You love playing with your slingshot. You've also had that taken away this month! ðŸĪŠ

You don't fall often but when you do... your Mama is the comforter! 💙

I love how y'all all pile up on the couch together!

You LOVE to make things and are VERY creative! You constantly have your wheels turning on what to do next! 😉

You are so good with Truett. You think he is the cutest! You picked out the shirt you are wearing for Christmas. We looked on line for about an hour before we found what you were looking for!

Just about every day we are outside you have your skates on!

See! Working on another project!

Your Mama has been watching Truett and Thomason twice a week while Nelly works!

You and your Dad went fishing in the freezing cold! You came home with some fish though!

Your Mama is so proud of you and also trying to keep you warm!

Weighing your fish! You think you have beat Pop's crappy record!

Almost....! It was 1.64 and Pops was 1.71.

Cleaning the fish with your Dad!

You crack me up! You all had a fruit fly problem this month which means... Aspen to the rescue! You climbed the cabinets and took a bunch of them OUT! LOL

A quick movie is the only way to get you three to STOP!

You love a good game of on-line golf!

It snowed!!! We didn't get much at our house...

SO... we headed to Winder and it was like a winter wonderland! SO much fun!

You built a snowman!

And... we shall call him Victor!

Your face!!!! 😆

We rode around Fort Largo and Pops swirled the tires. You were a fan. Me and Bennett... not so much! 😜

We called Thomason and told him to come join us!

You people can act cray cray sometimes!

Your Dad didn't go. We came home to him having a fire!

We played a game of Poker!

Me and your Mama ran into the store. If we ever leave y'all alone you are watching a funny video! LOL

You and your Dad and Pop's went snipe hunting and caught a rabbit! ha! You were SO excited!

You were insistent on cleaning the rabbit Pops shot. You are getting really good at it!

You and your Dad and Bennett are going to have rabbit at your cabin one night...

💙

Playing hide and go seek! Thomason needed some help getting out! LOL

You hold Truett as often as you can!

And entertain him in the car when you can too!

Your Dad was off and we went to eat at Nagoya in Covington!

You thought Thomason was hilarious at being scared of the fire!

Mr. Independent!

You are very good at saving yourself RIGHT before you fall!

Eating some cherries and making a mess!

You three ðŸĪŠ

Your Mama wanted to do Peter Pan with y'all! hahaha

You have a cold and had to stay out of everyone's face! You were not a fan!

Thankful that we've had COVID and can be together outside when a cold hits!

Pop's was working on Thomason's jeep. You love to help when you can... just like your Daddy!

Always playing with Truett even if you can't get close!

I am SO excited it's almost February and that means warmer days and more daylight! And... daylight savings time is closer! You aren't a fan of the cold weather either. You are already saying you don't want it to snow again! ha! We spent 1/2 the month recovering from covid and now you have a cold. It's been a stay at home month for sure but your Dee Dee is SUPER grateful for low-key days. I'm grateful we are home together.

You are stubborn and you are sweet. You are hard-headed and inquisitive. You love all things outdoors and much prefer outdoors to a movie. You love your roller-skates and all things that shoot - guns, slingshots, bow and arrows. ha! You are a hunter to your core. You love to go with Pop's and your Dad. You think you are "one of the guys" these days! You do your thing while Thomason and Bennett play and you love to check on Truett. You are one of the "big" people these days! ☺️ You always have an idea for "something" rolling around in your head. You love to try new things. You are trying to adjust to school with your Mom home and not working. You are getting better and I continue to pray that you'll learn well for your Mama. She is so brave to do school with y'all and you are VERY blessed to be able to. One day you will look back and realize that!

I sure am praying you will be better soon!

Trikafta helped you to gain some weight at your last visit and your liver was handling the medicine well. PRAISE the Lord. You lost some weight when you were sick... we're praying you will put it back on. You don't go to clinic until March - right before your birthday, so you have some time to put it back on.

Here's to February - we are going to go to church for the first time in TWO years! We can't wait. Your Mama is going to check into a time for y'all to get baptized soon. The pandemic is still on-going and we don't know what tomorrow holds - but your Mama and I were both convicted that we need to get back to church (even though we have been watching regularly). I am praying the Lord will protect you and Bennett and keep you and our family healthy. Covid is still making many people very sick... but it's not going anywhere and so we will learn to adjust with the Lord's help.

Happy 8 years and 10 months Aspen! Your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again!
