Happy 7 years and 1 month, sweet Aspen!
We've been "sheltered in place" from 3-15 until 4-26. You are out of school for the remainder of the year. It's an unusual time for sure. This virus is a once in a 100 year type pandemic (we hope). You've only left the house a few times in 6 weeks.
BUT! With all the unusual things going on in the past month... I have a feeling you will look back at this time with wonderful memories. It's the time we played outside for hours on end. It's the time that your Mommy worked from home for several months. It's the time that your Dad had less hours at work and was home more. It's the time that the world slowed down and we enjoyed family time. I know one thing... I am forever grateful that you live next door to me and I've never been more grateful than during this pandemic.
No one knows what the future holds. There are still so many unknowns. Restaurants have been closed for over a month but opened back up this past Monday with a lot of new guidelines. The few times we have been out in public, you have worn a mask! You didn't have any problems wearing a mask... it's pretty normal for you! It's been pretty cool for the whole family to join in what's been more "normal" for you all along.
We've had an awesome month in spite of all the craziness. We've all been healthy. ALL praise and glory to the Lord. I am one thankful, Dee Dee! I am praying a hedge of protection around our entire family. It would be really easy to be fearful during these unusual times. The Bible is very clear... in fact, the Bible says 365 times (once for every day)... do NOT be fearful. We're choosing HOPE over fear.
We started out the month celebrating YOU! We partied on Saturday the 28th and again all day on the 29th. You didn't get to have a "friend" birthday but you are very "go with the flow!" You don't seem to be as emotional and upset as other kids. You take things in stride and deal and I'm really proud of you.
Your Dad made breakfast for your birthday. We had Hawkins hash and pancakes! Your Mom made them in the shape of your age - 7. :) I bought these really cool candles for your pancakes and you had a blast placing them JUST right!
I brought you a shark balloon. You LOVED it! It got loose outside and you wailed like your arm had been cut off. haha! Thankfully your Dad was able to get it out of the tree. LOL
You love to light a candle! Look at that concentration!
We're supposed to be keeping our distance a bit but your Dee Dee couldn't resist an ENO snuggle!

Taking some time to answer some questions for the CF Foundation...
Considering we are in a pandemic... we've had an amazing month. Our entire family has been well and most importantly, your lungs are doing great! So far only 19 people in the country with CF have this virus and MOST people have done really well. This is much better news than expected 2 months ago.
You are so much fun and you light up my life! You want to play with me as much as you can and I love it. You are creative and artsy, you are confident and competitive. You are tender-hearted and very independent. You will try anything and you are a social butterfly. You can "keep on and on" about things, but I guess that means you aren't a quitter! ha! You have gotten used to ZOOM calls and we're thankful for technology. You miss school and Mrs. Strickland and Ella but you don't complain. You are GREAT to help Dee Dee with projects for the CF Foundation and you'll easily take pictures for them. You love the outdoors and all things hunting, fishing, creeks, lakes or rivers! You love all things water and jumping and climbing.
You were supposed to go to clinic in May but I'm not sure that will be happening. They are looking into ways to do tele-doctor appointments... so we will see! We can't wait to see when this virus will pass... they say it's not going anywhere.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
* Your lungs to stay healthy
* For you to NOT get the flu or COVID-19 and for our family to be healthy
* Weight gain to continue along with a great appetite
* SCHOOL! Enough said...
* Wisdom and guidance for your Mom and Dad - to know how to best handle this pandemic
* Our country and our leaders - we are in tough times
Aspen... your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again. You keep asking for a sleepover and it's going to happen soon. I sure pray. I can't wait until we don't have to worry quite as much about the virus.
GOOD NEWS! Dee Dee heard today that Trikafta going through the FDA is not being slowed down due to this virus! That's amazing news.
Happy 7 years and 1 month! I LOVE you!
