6 years and 9 months and GOODBYE 2019...

Happy 6 years and 9 months, sweet Aspen! I can't believe it's almost 2020 and you will be 7. Time is flying by. You've had a good month, although you've been on Bactrim and still can't shake the cough that you have. Your Mommy is about to call your doctor to see what the next step should be. We are praying you will get over the cough you have SOON! You aren't "set" to go back to clinic until February.

This has been a sick month for you, Bennett, your Dad, Thomason and Pops! It's also the shortest day of the year. This Dee Dee is ready for longer days with more daylight and less sickness. The FLU is crazy rampant this year.

We started out this month playing Monopoly. You LOVE a good game of Monopoly and have dominated some of the games! You're still learning to be a good sport when you don't win though. LOL You love games of all kinds but you have a special love for Monopoly right now.

You beat us BAD this game! :)

You and your Dad love a good challenge! :)

We went to get ornaments for our tree at Family Tree. We all have an artificial tree now. It's a good thing because this is the first year in a LONG time that we didn't see a single "tree stand" where we used to buy them.

You love to pick up Thomason and to play with him...

This has been a place to take our picture for several years now...

We went to Vine's to take family pictures...

We all went to Longhorn's when we were done...

We made cookies...

You love to make cookies and I love your excitement!

We let y'all put some of the ornaments on the tree...

Decorating cookies is so fun!

We went to Target and Hobby Lobby to get some ornaments for your tree in your room!

Your Dad made Hawkin's hash for when we got home. YUM!

I had fun watching you pick out ornaments ...

Your favorite...

We went to Downtown Monroe for the Christmas parade. It was a beautiful night. We ate at LR burger and got some "coffee" too!

The parade was 1 1/2 hours... long but so good!

SO silly!

You saw a friend from school....

You were too cute when "Buddy the elf" came up to you!

SANTA! We saw a "fake" Santa in one of the stores and you wouldn't go see him or even look at him. You said..."THAT IS NOT SANTA!!!!" When the parade came... you said, "THAT is SANTA!" Too cute! You are barely hanging on to believing Santa is real. I think this might be your last year but it's fun to watch you process it all.

They threw out so much candy at the parade!

We went to Warm Springs. I grew up going to this town with my grandparents (Papa and Ree Ree) so it holds a special memory to come here.

We went to the Butterfly House at Callaway Gardens too!

You love to try and catch the butterflies!

OH MY WORD! You are too cute!

Your Mommy used to sit on this swing when she was your age!

You wanted to stop the car and get your picture made here. TOO cute! :)

You got to play at the "North Pole!"

Getting your face painted...

You still love sharks!

Writing a note to Santa. The only thing you put on your list was an ELF!

You love all things bouncy!

The reason for the season... JESUS!

You made sand art!

The lights were gorgeous!

We were the first in line to see Santa! Bennett got sick on the way home... he had the flu!

I bought you this kit and you've been so excited to make your manger...

We played USA bingo!

You two love to wrestle! We've had some pretty days! :)

Watching B try and learn to ride his bike. He still has no interest in it...

We LOVE our new bonfire! It's one that Pops ordered that makes the smoke limited. We're a HUGE fan! You've learned to turn on the fire starter!

We made dinner outside one night...

There is SO much sickness! We're not going too many places with huge crowds!

We had a blast at Lake Lanier!

Playing in the snow was so much fun!

We came for Bennett's 5th birthday and you loved every minute of it!

The carnival rides were a bonus!

You got to ice skate for the first time. Bennett wasn't a fan so you didn't have long but you were determined to figure it out! I LOVE your determined personality. You do NOT give up!

You didn't care that you fell...

Starting to get the hang of it...

The man tried to tell you the ride was too young for you. The man thought it was hilarious to make y'all keep going round and round! HAHA

Snack time!

Love that you two had so much fun!

This was your favorite ride!

It was a yucky day but we were so thankful the rain held off for the most part!

Leaving you ran into the front of the car and busted your lip! :(

We went to Frontera's afterwards for B's birthday. He fell asleep. haha!

You love to do this...

Pops and I took you shopping to buy Christmas presents for your Mommy, Dada and Bennett. You always love to go to Chipotle. You LOVE hot sauce just like your Dee Dee!

We went to Earth Fare and got some gummies too!

 Wrapping your presents...

We played in the basement! You and your Dad are playing on SnapChat!

Talking to the birds in Epiphany...

Nelly, Co-Chri and Thomason came over for B's birthday...

Playing in the tub with the bath bomb Dee Dee bought B! It had a monster inside! LOL

Christmas Eve service at our church...

Papa didn't know anyone or why we were there but he seemed to love to see y'all anyway. You were so good with him. He doesn't remember your name but you were so patient with him. I'm very proud of you.

Giving Papa a hug bye...

I love you three!

Playing with your Dad on Christmas Eve...

Your Dad and Pops were super excited about their gifts. Your Mommy too.

You bought me some bath salts! LOVE!

Christmas Eve at Dee Dee and Pops house in our matching pajamas!

Putting reindeer food out..

Decorating cookies for Santa!

Your Mommy and Dada are so gracious to allow Santa to come to our house! I'm SO grateful that I get to watch the fun! You were SO excited to get your elf!

You got a terrarium and Battleship too!

It's finally Christmas and time to put the star on!

Dee Dee bought a new advent candle for next year...

It's important to Dee Dee and all of us that y'all know WHY we celebrate!

stocking fun...

So grateful it was sunny and 65 on Christmas. We had so much fun playing outside...

It was 1pm by the time we ate breakfast but it sure was delicious!

Playing Battleship with Pops!

You all got Pops a new fire-pit for camping...

You wanted to see the bruise and freckles! :)

You got butterfly wings for Christmas from your Mommy and Dada too!

You picked B out a container for your crawdads. hahahaha! SO sweet of you. LOL

You really wanted to go ice skating again. We had NO idea that it would be a puddle of water. It's been so warm lately. You were super upset! :(

Your Mommy is so good to help teach you logics and WHY...

We ate Antico's...

And you rode the train at Avalon...

I found this picture of your Mommy when she was 6. You look SO much like her...

Going to work with your Mommy. JoJo has the flu and so does Pops! SO far we've not gotten it and I'm sure praying we don't...especially you!

You got a tracing set for Christmas. You are SOOO good at drawing!

Playing the day after Christmas! Your Mommy loves to watch y'all play...

I've been so grateful it's been warm enough for some outside play time in the creek...

We've had sickness this month but this Dee Dee is overwhelmed with gratitude that we were able to celebrate B's birthday and Christmas with everyone well. Thomason had hand, foot and mouth and was really sick too but was well for B's birthday. SO much to be thankful for. Pops has been almost 48 hours without a fever. I am sure praying that no one gets his flu strain A. :(

It's been so much fun for you not to have to go to school. You're ready to go back though. I sure am praying that the flu will have passed by the time you go back. It's been a REALLY bad season.

Prayer Requests:

We're asking our PRAYER partners to pray for Aspen's cough to clear up.

Please pray that Aspen will keep his weight gain and gain some more weight too!

Please pray for Trikafta to be approved for his age group sooner than later.

Please pray for a healthy remainder of the winter.
