6 years and 8 months and a GREAT CF clinic visit this month!

Happy 6 years and 8 months sweet Aspen! You're already counting down the months until you are seven. You've had a great month and we're so grateful. You started your first anti-biotic in a while this week for a croupy, deep cough. You've been in the hospital the past 2 years at Thanksgiving.  We are praising the Lord that you haven't been in the hospital in 2019.

You can be so silly. You're learning the art of "sarcasm" and when it's ok to be funny and when it's ok NOT to be. LOL You're reading much better and working hard on it. In this picture, you've clipped your site words to your hair. LOL !

You love most any game! We went to see a Christian Illusionist at our church...

You and B had a great time!

Character book day at school...

Happy Halloween! You got some prizes from school...

And Dee Dee got you a few things too!

We decorated cookies...

We went to Nelly's to pass out candy and to trick or treat...

The rain stopped right before it was time to go out and the temps dropped. We were so thankful!

The day after Halloween we went camping at Moccasin Creek State Park near Clayton, GA! It didn't take long for you to find a tree to climb...

Dee Dee brought you a chocolate frog!

It was a beautiful day to kayak...

You are a natural...

Sometimes SnapChat can be fun!

Pops bought some stuff to turn our fires green and blue...

Snuggling with you at the campfire is one of my favorite things to do...

We found a beautiful creek to fish at...

You LOVE to fish and I LOVE to watch!

This tree was at your campsite...

Playing with Pops!

We had so much fun at the playground...

I love to play with you two!

Granny went to be with Jesus this month. She passed away on November 5th, 2019. This is a picture of you and Granny when you were a baby. She loved you very much.

Pops gathered you and Bennett and Thomason to tell you three about Granny. You could see it "sinking" in. You teared up. You said you understood.

Pops was really sad. She had been sick with congestive heart failure but it was still a "surprise!" Dee Dee and Pops were in the mountains when we got the word that she wasn't doing well.

This is the picture that was used for Granny's obituary....

Jo Ann spoke often about the day she would meet her sweet Jesus and that her faith would become sight. She wanted today to be one of celebration, knowing that she is more alive now than ever before. Phil. 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

You understood and we caught you walking by Granny's casket and just looking in but you still didn't REALLY understand. Granny would be "delighted" to know that almost $4,000 was given in her memory and your honor to the CF Foundation.

Papa T has dementia and didn't understand. Pops is trying to explain it to him.

You really wanted a red carnation from the funeral home so they gave you one...

We went to Mountain Park First Baptist Church for dinner after her service...

This was right outside the fellowship hall...

Granny's burial was on the following day in Rome, GA! Pops just got a new car... and Expedition and we were able to ride with y'all to Rome!

Pops did a great job honoring Granny at her graveside service...

On the way home, you road back with Nelly, Co-Chri and Thomason!

Thomason turned TWO on the 6th. We went ahead with his birthday party. Granny would have wanted us to.

The following day we took off to the North GA mountains to hike to the Hike Inn! You needed some new hiking boots. You were pretty excited at REI!

I loved sharing this experience with you and Pops and your Mommy!

We collected leaves on our poles on our hike...

You are a PRO!

Beautiful weather and a perfect trip!

You bunked with your Mom and we had a sharing room...

Unlimited hot chocolate was right up your alley! :)

We played so many games...

You learned how to play Battleship!

You wanted everyone to know you saw a ladybug and a sunrise! LOL

We wrote our names on our cups and kept it all day and night...

They asked you to ring the bell to tell everyone breakfast was ready!

Getting a good stretch in before we headed back out! :)

SO proud of you and thankful we all have the health to do what we did. Over 10 miles and 2,000 feet of elevation gain...

The day after we got back, it was CF clinic visit day! :)

It was a SUPER long appointment. You had gained 3 pounds and moved into the 12% BMI range. We are doing the happy dance! That is wonderful news. Your PFT's were 90... which is lower than it has been but the doctor didn't seem to mind. Your lungs sounded clear, so all in all we are THANKING and praising the Lord for good results!

SILLY boy!

OUCH!!! But you didn't seem to mind...

You all kept Thomason one night and it wore you both OUT!

You are so strong!

You went squirrel hunting with your Dad. You love hunting so much...

Showing Pops your find!

The leaves changing have been late this year and so many of the leaves have turned brown and just fallen off... but our driveway was GORGEOUS!

You have a hard time listening the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd time you are told to do something. You have a stubborn streak in you that your Mommy is patiently trying to break.

You said this weather was PERFECT for you. You love to be outside...

Dee Dee bought an Aspen Monopoly game and you love it!

You beat all of us!

We picked pine cones and sprayed them with glitter so Dee Dee could use them inside for decorations...

We made ornaments...

And made our own pizzas too! You and B spent the night on a school night because your Mommy had to be in to work so early...

You two love "coffee" from Coffee Camper CO!

Your Mom bought you a book from The Story Shop. The book is about sharks...

We ate dinner with y'all a couple of times this month. SO fun!

We had a really warm day this month, so we enjoyed strolling the streets of Monroe... Your Mommy is here to find you all some stockings!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! This Dee Dee and Pops is SO grateful for you! It's so good to be home and we're so thankful for the gorgeous day. It was our first Thanksgiving without Granny. She was missed.

I love this picture of you four...

You were so excited that Steven and Summer and Rosemary were coming over...

Thank you, Jesus!

SO much to be thankful for...

Love!!!

We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and ate "meat muffins" that Nelly made. You loved them...

You love helping and the turkey was no exception...

You are such a good big cousin to Thomason!

You all have so much to play with in your yard...

SOOO funny!

You have a great throw!

Checking on the turkey to see if it's done...

I wish y'all played on your fort more...

Playing after dinner...

Watching the Flintstones on TV and laughing with Pops!

We got Pops up on the slide too!

I love playing with you three...

You weren't so sure about going through my legs but I finally convinced you to give it a try! ha

I got my leg up high enough.... hahahahahaha!

Happy November, sweet Aspen! One more month this year and I'm pretty excited for the fun the month will bring. Today... 11-29-19 would have been Granny's 86th birthday. Your birthday was the same day of the month. That's pretty cool.

We are praying you will get over this cough soon and not have to have another anti-biotic. Pops has been sick too. We're praying no one else will get it.

Your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again. I praise the Lord for the new medicine in the works. I praise Him you are doing so well. I praise Him for who He is and pray that one day you  will come to know Him in a personal way.

Happy almost December, sweet boy!  I can't wait to watch you GROW!
