6- SIX- years old!!! You are SO proud to be six. :)

Happy 6th birthday, sweet Aspen!!!

It's hard to believe how fast time is going by. You have grown so much this year. You are logical and talkative. You question things. You are stubborn and independent. You are a lover of the outdoors. You have a bit of sassiness that you've picked up from school and you're learning when to "use it" and when not to. You are a loving little guy and love to give hugs! You aren't afraid of things (you'll go right up to the counter to ask or order anything). You are athletic and coordinated. You love Chipotle and buffalo dipped chicken fingers at Zaxby's. You love milkshakes from Dee Dee's and candy but you're quick to tell people you can't have gummies because you have CF! LOL You still love cinnamon rolls and can put them away (you had FOUR for dinner the other night). You love all things water and can't wait for our pool to open. You love to climb on anything you're close to. You aren't interested in singing (I want you to sing at church but you said...NO!!!! I want to RUN). LOL You are a super fast runner and you love to show us. You love fishing and hunting and riding your bike. I'm so thankful to be your Dee Dee. I'm so grateful that you live next door and I can see you grow and change. You are SO loved, sweet Aspen!

We share a birthday month and I LOVE it! We've been celebrating all month and it's been so much fun. We're in our CF fundraising season and so far we've raised over $10,000. One day I hope you will look back and see all the LOVE and effort Dee Dee put into making your life as awesome as possible.

Dee Dee and Pops went to Washington, DC to advocate at the US capitol for CF and YOU! We needed a picture the Foundation could use to "promote" us going. This was our picture!

We went to Academy Sports looking for bikes for Mommy and you had to try out this cool truck! :)

You have a love for tinkering with things just like your Daddy!

I have loved all of our shirts for your walk but this year holds a special meaning to me. You were in a video for the Foundation and they asked you what your "dream" was. You said you dreamed of climbing a BIG mountain. That gave Dee Dee the idea for this years shirt. I think it's one of my favorites! :)

Dee Dee and Pops had to be at the airport at 6:30am for a flight to Washington.

We were able to stay at the historical Mayflower hotel...

It was an honor for Dee Dee to be asked to go and represent Georgia...

Listening to doctors and researchers was very interesting and hopeful....

The first day we were there, the triple drug therapy in trial right now had impressive results announced and the room erupted with excitement. It was great to be a part!

Dee Dee had to get a business dress to be professional! :)

Our CF Foundation contact for the day...

I was able to show the Congressman and the offices we met with some of the things you endure with CF...

But... it was important to ALSO show them that CF doesn't define you and WHO you really are! You are SO much more than CF!

Our first stop was in the House of Representative building across from the capitol...

Our "power" stance LOL

Tom Graves office...

Buddy Carter's office...

It was interesting to see all of the black SUV's surrounding the capitol...

The high was 35 degrees but we survived back and forth across the capitol...

Johnny Isakson's office...

Group picture of all of the state's represented to advocate...

The elevator doors in the House building!

Lucy McBath's office...

We were able to personally meet with Congressman Hice and his staff. They were very engaging. Look at the frame with your picture. I was able to tell them ALL about your story. Pops was able to talk to them about making sure you have access to affordable healthcare coverage so you can stay as well as possible. We had a great meeting and it was an awesome opportunity.

Congressman Hice was very nice and interested in YOU!

We had time to tour the capitol!

This is where president's lie in "state" after they pass away.

When a president leaves office... he leaves from this area!

Underground tunnels between buildings!

Group picture of all the representatives from the United States. Pops and I are there in the front on the right.

The day of our flight...we walked down to see the White House!

We only had a few minutes, but we walked by the Washington Monument...

We saw Marine One landing in the back of the Whitehouse. Pretty cool. Turns out, they were taking President Trump to Alabama to see the damage caused by recent hurricanes!

You are about to lose your 4th tooth and you can't wait for this one to come out! You even tried wiggling it. It came out a few days later and the tooth fairy left you $10

You two play well "some" of the time! LOL I love how much you love games!

Playing with Dee Dee's I-Pad

We love to go to REI... well, Mommy, Dee Dee and Pops do! LOL You two were good though...

See! Always climbing on whatever you can find!

We went to the Dekalb Farmer's Market and you were SUPER excited to get some craw-fish for the creek. hahaha!

We got home after dark, but you still had to put your friends in the creek! :)

This is how excited Dee Dee gets over SPRING!

Dee Dee's birthday weekend... the time changes to make daylight last longer!

Dee Dee and Pops saw this sign at Scott's Antique Market. I met the neatest lady and told her your story. She stopped what she was doing and prayed for you... right there in the market!

We played outside to end Dee Dee's birthday weekend!

Some days you are SUPER tired after school!

I love that you get excited when I pick you up from school...

You wanted to find a "Charlie" something fierce when we got home...

We finally found him down at your fort...

You know it's a warm and sunny day when we find Charlie!

We always take a picture in Daisy when I pick you up...

Trying to train Bow Valley!

Bow was very excited about the duck!

You wanted McDonald's for dinner.... We NEVER go there but tonight... why not? :)

We went to Nelly's to get Bennett! Mommy had to go to the ER because she wasn't feeling well...

You were pretty excited to be going to sleep at Dee Dee's. It was Dee Dee's birthday eve... so Mommy and Dada actually ended up picking you up after you fell asleep!

Dee Dee and Pops were going to Atlanta for my birthday to ride bikes...

It was a school day though and you were pretty upset that you couldn't go...

You wouldn't even look at me! LOL

You were back to talking to me after school though! ha

Watching y'all play outside is one of my favorite things to do!

Happy 55th birthday to Dee Dee...

You and Bennett love to play with Sparklers!

I love when you crawl up in my lap and fall asleep...

On Dee Dee's birthday weekend we went to see the new CF movie! You're too young to see it but I wonder what you would think. This is such a hard thing. SO real for you and for us. I pray that CF will stand for CURE FOUND before you have to endure any of these struggles. The movie wasn't 100% accurate but I'm SOOOO excited to see CF getting so much awareness to people that don't know anything or much about it!

Dada had to go to Raleigh, NC for 2 weeks and you two were helping him check some things on the truck...

You were insistent on wearing your baby hat to Waffle House! You are going to miss your Dada!

Bennett didn't understand what was going on but you did!

Mrs. Robin bought Dee Dee a birthday balloon and y'all had fun playing with it...

Me and you are strategizing about our kickball game against Mommy and Bennett!

You haven't asked to play "big Jenga" in a while but today was the day! :)

I won one game and you did too!

One of your favorite games to play outside is the "order game!" You like to act like you're working at Chipotle...

You almost always want to be a "walker" when I pick you up now. I love to see the big grin you have when you see me!

You LOVE to get your hair cut. It's SO cute!

We took some pictures to use to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis... you are SO handsome!

This is one of the poses you came up with!

I think you look older than six...

We went to TJ Maxx and you picked out this shark shirt...

"Look Dee Dee! Let's take more pictures for CF! Look at me!"

LOL ! You were SO into taking pictures "for CF!" :)

Playing "Guess Who" with Pops!

I think we have a new car washer in the family! You LOVE to wash Daisy!

You washed the golf cart too...

We played the penguin game and Dee Dee beat you! :)

Dee Dee and Pops went to Florida for Pop's work and Dada was in NC. Mommy packed y'all up and headed up to Vogel State Park! You were able to fish!

Going to see a waterfall and assuring Mommy you wouldn't slip...

Oops!

There's not a creek out there that you can't jump over! :)

You wanted to take a silly picture but B didn't get the memo! :)

Your Mommy loves the Appalachian Trail. This is the only covered part on the entire thing!

FaceTiming you is something Dee Dee loves!

It's creek time! The weather is warming up (but we've had cold this month too)...

Who knew Charlie would eat a minnow...?

A long day outside calls for a long bubble bath! :)

You were supposed to go to clinic on 4-2-19 but they called and wanted you to come on 3-26-19. Mommy took you alone because Dada and Dee Dee were out of town.

Mommy was supposed to go prepared to talk about a feeding tube...

BUT GUESS WHAT??? You gained 2.3 pounds and moved from the 2%BMI to 14% and the doctors canceled your appointment with Dr Freeman! SUCH amazing news!!!!

You also had PFT's that were 99% - up from 93% and the highest in almost 2 years!

Mommy got some eggs to color...

We screamed out in PRAISE to the LORD for your incredible clinic visit! You don't have to go back until May. I pray you can keep the weight coming on and that your lung function will stay up. You have a cough but the doctor thinks you have allergies, so you started Zyrtec.

Dee Dee and Pops came home from Florida the next day and you all were waiting in the driveway to greet us! :)

You picked me flowers for when I got there...

We played outside...

Hiding a plastic egg with Nelly!

Celebrating a victory in your game with Mommy!

You are a ham-bone!

Dee Dee picked you up from school on your birthday eve and we went to Target on a shopping trip!

Some of your goodies!

Then we went to Dick's to get you a new bike! You had picked out another one but when you saw this one, you wouldn't even talk about the other one! TOO cute!

All smiles!

You couldn't wait to get home...

First... some chicken fingers dipped in mild sauce with NO fries! :)

Racing with Pops! It didn't take you long to be up to top speed!

Playing your bug game with B!

And Mommy.... You didn't want the night to end! :)

I love that we can all ride bikes together! You are SO much fun and I love you to the moon and back and back again!

There's nothing more that I want for you... well, there is... first, I want you to accept Jesus as your personal savior and have a personal relationship with Him. BUT... then, I want a CURE for you. I want you to NEVER have to struggle just to breathe.

Your Dee Dee works SO hard for YOU in the months of February, March and April. We have been blessed with some generous people who LOVE you and want the same thing! Pops is working with some banks to increase our team amount and this Dee Dee is STOKED! I get so excited when people give and grieve when people don't. Some of the closest people to us don't give and yet, some people we barely know give generously. I pray that the Lord will soften EVERYONE's heart that hears your story and that we will break last year's record. We can SEE the good that our donations are making and we will NEVER quit fighting UNTIL it's DONE!

This is the date of our Great Stride's walk! This year you have some friends joining you and I KNOW that is going to make you so happy!

You are SO loved sweet boy by SO many people.

On your birthday, Mommy and I are having lunch with you at school (she has yummy cupcakes) and then we're meeting Pops to go ride bikes on the belt-line in Atlanta. You want to do that because Dee Dee and Pops did that and I think that's SO cute! I hope you love it too! :)

You were born at 12:21AM on 3-29... and so it's almost your 6th birthday as I type this!

I want you to always know what a HUGE blessing you are and that you are SO loved. I pray you will keep your fighting spirit and always be determined to keep up with your treatments. You are strong and I'm super proud of you.

May this be an amazing year for you!
