4 years and 9 months and highly anticipating turning 5! :)

SOOOO grateful to begin December at home and back to a "normal" routine! December hasn't been a "well" month but it's been a month full of wonderful memories and the doctor saying your "crud" wasn't in your chest. And to us... that's an amazing blessing. We're grateful.

I love your huge smile! You LOVE to get your hair cut. This is the first time that you've "picked" your own haircut from Google images. haha! You still have the sticky glue from your "dandelion" ... aka.. bandage. You refuse to let Mommy scrub it off. ha!

December has been UP and down with the temperatures but we've taken advantage of every beautiful day. You love to play outside.

We normally put up our Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving but you were still in the hospital. I was so grateful that the following Saturday you were out and we could also take family pictures and get our tree. We took pictures at Vines Botanical.

We went to the Family Tree for a Christmas ornament tradition after pictures. I love how you asked me to come and take your picture here. SO cute!

You are such a big helper!

You love Thomason so much. I was trying to take a picture of Nelly and Thomason and you ran to be included! :)

I love how you love to help decorate our tree!

One of my favorite pictures ever. SO sweet!

You always put on the Santa I had when I was your age. Priceless!

You love to bake and to cook...

Warmer days means playing with Bow Valley...

You LOVE for me to pick you up in Daisy!

We went to Toys R Us to make your Christmas list...

A warmer start to the month led to the biggest snow in Atlanta (not at our house) since 1993. We didn't get any snow but Nelly got 2-3 inches! Some places in Atlanta got 12 inches!

Playing at Nelly's apartment...

We went to Rosemary's 1st birthday after playing in the snow. You loved going to Steven's bedroom to play video games!

After Rosemary's party, we went to see Santa at the Mall of GA!

You and B were so excited to peek on Santa!

You all rode the train around the mall too!

I think everyone's favorite meal is sushi from the Thai Diner. I love to watch you eat a "K-dream" and to eat it all. I told Mommy you need to eat sushi every day. LOL

Aspen, you went back to the CF clinic on December 11th. Dr S doctor ordered a new x-ray so she could compare it to your November clinic visit because you still had a lingering cough. ("Baseline" coughs are common in people with CF... however, since Aspen is so young and didn't have a previous...cough, she wanted to get him back to his pre-admission status.) 🙏🏻
Thankfully, your x-ray showed no changes since your November 18th admission... so she didn't give you another anti-biotic. Your cough went away, for the most part. However, it came back with a vengeance on Christmas Day night. Mommy took you to see Dr. Zaman the day after Christmas and she said you had a slight ever ear infection (a 2 on a scale of 1-10) and that it was all "in your head!" Your chest was clear. THANK YOU, LORD!!!! She gave you azithromycin and said she believes a lot of it is allergies, so you are starting on Claratin. I can't wait to see if that helps you or not.

*** She was really impressed with Aspen's progress and how fast and how far he could run without losing his breath. His doctor believes he will be an athlete and we pray so too. He's naturally gifted in this area...yet another way the Lord made Aspen to be just how he needed to be to fight this disease the best way possible. Exercise helps to move around the mucus buildup in his lungs, so we're grateful he loves to run and jump and is so active. May he always be.

Me and you and Mommy and Bennett went to Coffee Camper Co... a new coffee shop in Monroe. You love to get a "coffee" (aka... kids hot chocolate). :)

Bennett brought this reindeer hat. If B has it... you typically want it and visa versa.

We went to Scoops afterwards for a little bit of candy. You two love that store. Juicy drops are sometimes your favorite... but this time you got some candy in a bag and some super sour spray. haha

We went to Stone Mountain Christmas! We went later than we normally do. It was COLD and it was crowded but we sure did have a good time!

You and Bennett wanted to go see the dinosaurs but we didn't have time. Dee Dee and Pops bought y'all a mountain membership for Christmas so we can go back sometime soon!

Your Mommy is so strong! She put you right up on her shoulders to watch. Dada stayed home to have a game day.

You and B loved the parade! You watched Santa come to town too!

We went to Mellow Mushroom afterwards! You love to play with Thomason!

I have a feeling you two are going to be buds! :)

Your Christmas program was SO cute! I loved to watch you sing and do all the hand motions. On the way out, you got out of line and ran up to give Dee Dee a big squeeze. My heart melted. You are so cute. I'm so thankful you are doing better and could be there!

Singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and digging that arm down was my favorite "motion!"

Look how old you look! OH ME! These are your teachers... Mrs. Robin on the left and your main teacher, Mrs. Maria (your favorite) on the right.

You also had a Christmas party at school. I can't get over how grown you look!

Your class went around to different rooms and played games!

One of the "activities" was decorating cookies with red icing. Your Mommy said she wanted to know who came up with this station. SO messy! hahaha

You played BINGO in one of the rooms!

B-I-N-G-O!!!! :)

This was my favorite station. You wrapped up like a snowman! Too cute!

I love what you made and I love how well you write your name! I think you have the best handwriting in the class! :)

Before you left, you made a bag of reindeer food. The food helped to show Santa where to go! :)

And, of course, you ate goodies! :)

You made your first ornament for the tree! CUTE!

I love that you also made a nativity! We've done a lot of talking this year about the REASON we celebrate Christmas!

We stopped by Nelly's house and you get so excited to hold Thomason.

Shopping and Freddy's with Mommy,  Dada and  B!

Happy 3rd birthday, Bennett. He wanted to go to the aquarium. Granny and Papa gave him a membership for your family for Christmas!

I love to watch you in awe...

You loved crawling through to see the penguins!

In the car you said you're favorite thing was the gift shop... haha but later said it was the Dolphin show. We sat on the 7th row and were supposed to get splashed. You were upset that we didn't get soaked. Next time I'm sure we will.

Taking a break at the aquarium for some Dip and Dots! You chose rainbow ice cream...

When we first got to the aquarium, there was hardly anyone there. It was fun to have the "place to ourselves" and to even be able to get a picture!

Christmas Eve service was at the high school. Sitting on the bleachers is hard for you... you love to run and play but we made it! :) I love going to church services together. Side note... you draw SO well. Look how well you stay in the lines, or in this case, the Christmas tree! :)

We came back to Dee Dee's to make cookies for Santa! I'm so grateful that your Mommy and Daddy allow us to be a part of the traditions your Mommy had when she was little. We used a recipe from my Mom and Ree Ree for the cookies and they came out perfect!

You wanted to make Santa FROG cookies... so we did! :)

Dada and Pops put your trampoline together while we made cookies! This was your amazing gift from Mommy and Dada for Christmas! You two are going to get a LOT of use out of this thing and it's automatic "CPT". That makes us all happy! :)

I couldn't resist getting a picture. You love playing with Co-Chri and Thomason and even Bennett most days. haha

Sitting with Dee Dee and smiling that HUGE smile! :)

Pops read us the Christmas story!

Your "love language" seems to be gifts. You love, love to get gifts. We had a long talk with you about the real meaning of Christmas and how blessed we are. I pray you will always remember the reason for the season! I pray you will remember that Jesus came to DIE! He came willingly with a purpose. To save us from our sins! You can't have Christmas without Easter and death and resurrection.

Your Papa loves you!

Playing the piano with Co-Chri is fun times!

You got your stocking at home on Christmas Eve!

This is the first year to have Christmas Eve with just our family and Granny and Papa. It was such a relaxing night (we didn't even have church service at night because Christmas Eve was on a Sunday). We came back to Dee Dee's and Pops and we all spent the night together. I LOVED to watch you put the reindeer food you made out for Rudolph and his reindeer.

You poured milk for Santa and got his cookies ready!

Talking about the cookies you made with Mommy!

You are so big to hold Thomason all by yourself...

"Santa" is eating the cookies you made! :) LOL

Santa LOVED your cookies! :)

I'm so so so so grateful to be able to watch Christmas through your eyes! The excitement is SO cute. We always sing,  "LouLou Belle... and Danielleeeeeee... it's time for Christmas in the den!" hahaha We've done this since your Mommy and Nelly were little!

You love the centipede that Santa brought you. Bennett was terrified of it though!

Your parachute man in your stocking was a hit!

And your crazy glasses... hahahaha

You even loved to help open MY presents! LOL

B got some dinosaurs and you two loved them...

Sharks were the theme for Christmas... :)

Your Dee Dee couldn't love you more!

You played with your $5 parachute man the most. You would run up the stairs and throw it off and do it all again! :)

But you couldn't play long before it was time to do a breathing treatment....

I helped you FLUTTER while Mommy made sausage balls...

Christmas breakfast is my favorite! We sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jesus and have our same foods... pigs in the blanket, sausage balls, cinnamon rolls, Hawkins hash made by your Dada. YUM!

My favorite part is how you wanted to say our prayer! SOOOOO sweet! At the end of our breakfast prayer you asked to go to Toys R US! hahahaha But, at dinner time when Steven came... you asked to pray again and this time was even sweeter than your morning prayer. I'm so proud of you and how BOLD you are! You are brave and I hope you stay this way. This was your prayer:

"Thank you for my family and for this day. We love you in your heart (we think you say that because I tell you that I love you with all my heart). Thank you for Jesus's birthday. Help us to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas."

I love your heart. I love how amazingly brave you are! I love how you ask so many questions. You often ask WHY? You really want to understand things. You are analytical and have so many of your Dee Dee's traits and I love that. Things need to make sense to you, which can be good... but can also be a little trying at times. ha!

We are beginning to wonder if you can hear normally though. You ask us to repeat things very often and say HUHHHHH? You will say, "What did you say?"  We hope it's just that your ears are stopped up from your sinus drainage.

I LOVE, LOVE this picture and all you boys! I posted this on Facebook and this was what I had to say....

"My heart is SO full. ❤️ My sweet husband is the biggest example of God’s grace in my life. 😍 His devotion, loyalty, sweet-spirit, selflessness and Godly example has trickled down to our girls and even their husbands...and I pray one day to these sweet boys. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I love how my son-in-laws love our girls and their sons SO well. ❤️ Feeling incredibly blessed by our family as we wait for my sweet niece and nephew and their families to come for dinner. Really reflecting on that this year as we celebrate the greatest gift EVER and also Thomason’s first Christmas... a gift so prayed for."

I'm so grateful for the example your Pop's sets for our family and I'm so grateful for how well your Dada loves you and B so well and your Mommy too. I pray one day you will grow up and lead your home to follow Jesus and to make good choices. My biggest prayer this Christmas is that you will grow to love the Lord and understand how much HE loves you and the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas night the rest of our family came over. I love this time!

Our family has grown so much and I couldn't be more thankful!

Nelly and Co-Chri bought you and B this lego table! You LOVE it!

Reading you books and helping you to realize why we celebrate Christmas is my favorite!

We went to see "The Star" after Christmas! You love movies but not as much as B. You're a little bit more fidgety like your Dee Dee. It was a really cute movie though!

We got "owl ice cream" when we were done!

You are learning so much at school. You miss not going during Christmas break! I'm so proud of you and how much you love to learn. You write your letters so well. I saw the word, "friend" and was asking you what the letters were and you named them all... until you got to the "d". You said that was an upside down "p." hahaha!

I love how you love to sing too! You love to sing, "Oh, Lord" while we are riding in Daisy. We've also been singing Christmas songs this month. This is how Rudolph goes when you sing it..

"Rudolph the reindeers loves me!" hahaha

And your other song is FELIX loves me God for Feliz Navidad!  TOO CUTE! :)

Mommy was explaining that Mary and Joseph had to walk a long way to Bethlehem and you wanted to know why they didn't just drive!

I love the cute things you say every month! Far too many to write down! :)

You wrote your first "love letter" to Julia in your class. You drew her a heart and signed your name!

I was getting in your truck one day with a shirt that had flowers on it and you said..."I love your pretty shirt! I need to pick YOU some more flowers!" You are going to make an amazing husband. You pay attention to detail and are very observant.

Praying you will have a healthy 2018! Praying for a CURE and for effective therapies. Getting ready to start the New Year with our GREAT STRIDES campaign... Because this Dee Dee loves YOU so much and will do all she can for a cure. Today... I couldn't be more grateful for our family and that you are doing well.

I love you SOOOOOOO!
