You're 2 1/2 years old! How did that happen?
Every day you change… you talk more, get more mischievous and independent and we can see your little personality developing. I'm so grateful that I get to watch you grow and change every week.
This has been an awesome month for you. You've been healthy and we've all had so much fun.
We started off the month celebrating your great Papa's 80th birthday at Provino's! You are so blessed to have so many people that love you and we sure are blessed to have YOU!
You telling Papa, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" So sweet!
You and Grady. It's so fun watching the two of you!
We sure do LOVE Papa and he sure does love you all!
One of the things that we love to do is sit outside and enjoy the evenings. The cooler temperatures have been so exciting. We've had a really hot summer. You loved playing with Gunner with Co Chri and Nelly.
It was a cool day for our church's annual picnic. You LOVE playing outside and you love the water.
One of the decisions that your Mommy and DaDa always have to think about… Letting you be the boy that you are or letting fear rule?! It's such a hard decision that we always discuss. You may have CF but CF does NOT have you.
Rivers and lakes carry bacteria that people with CF are much more prone to "get" or culture. We all want your lungs to remain as healthy as possible FOREVER or as long as we possibly can make them. It's difficult drawing the line of what you "should do" and what you should be told NO on. Me and Pops pray every single night for you and for your Mommy and DaDa. We pray for their decisions and your health. Right now, we are using logic and washing your hands really well when you are done playing. Your Mommy and DaDa won't let you get the water near your mouth and you use "caution" but I'm grateful that you are experiencing life. CF doesn't define who you are and I'm so grateful for that. Pray. Pray and pray some more and ask God for wisdom.
You had a great time walking with Pops in the water!
This is the first time Dee Dee has been in a creek in YEARS but there is something about your sweet voice and face that hooks me in and wants me to experience life with you. Your Pops was a little shocked. LOL
Your Mommy loves you SO much! We all had to take turns playing in the water.
If they allowed you… you would have been swimming in the water. HA! That may not happen but you sure did have a blast!
You are getting ready to move next door to Dee Dee and Pops! :) Pops was helping your DaDa with some things around your house. You were busy showing B how to climb the gates! LOL
You love being a helper and you wanted to SO badly! It won't be long!
I'm not sure if you were running from me and Mommy or trying to help Pops! :)
You love ALL things outdoors. Bubbles are one of your favorites. Oh, and pushing B!
I love your silly self!
You let Dee Dee finish her first official "REAL" bedtime book without getting up and running off! YAY! :)
You are a climber for sure! Your Mommy knew you were climbing out of your crib at times but now you are climbing in and out and won't even let your Mommy get you out in the mornings. Your Mommy had to turn your lock around on your door to keep you safe.
You can work the I-phone better than a lot of adults I know. You love your educational games!
You've always taken showers (sha-sha) with DaDa but you are starting to love baths.
You and Bennett have so much fun together!
You're already leading him astray and on "adventures!" HAHA!
You LOVE jumping in your trampoline and it has been the best thing for you. It's your chest physical therapy but you aren't "strapped down!" It doesn't replace your vest but it sure is helpful.
Me and you and Mommy went to "Your Pie" while your DaDa and Pops were dove hunting! It won't be too many years and you'll be off with them. Gasp! :) You LOVED "Your Pie" and ate most of your pizza….cheese and tomatoes. :)
This is your…"Are you kidding me, Dee Dee?" look! You got a "free" ice cream with your meal and this is what they gave you. LOL
We're trying to teach B how to take funny selfies. He will learn soon! :)
You had your first taco from Taqueria Del Sol in Athens. You loved it. You had a fish taco.
Labor Day 2015 - We went to Tribble Mill park in Grayson. You love to "fish". You're learning more and more every time you go. Bow Valley had fun too. :)
Co Chri was so sweet to play ball with you at the park. Aunt Nelly was in Oregon.
You love to play with your DaDa
You LOVE to play with other children and tried to play with this little boy you saw. His Daddy wouldn't stop and he couldn't play. Your sweet little lip poked out and you had a tear going down your cheek. Then… Dee Dee and Mommy had a tear going down their cheek. You are so sweet! :)
You needed a big ole hug from your Mommy afterwards...
We walked around and played with the ducks for a long time.
You said…"Awesome, Dee Dee! Come on!" hahaha
You always want to go in the kayak…but not for long. That's ok. One day you'll want to go and go and go.
A boy and his dog! SO sweet!
You are Mr. Independent this month… well, more so than last month! :) You climb in and out of your crib and most mornings won't let your Mommy get you out of the crib… you have to climb out. You usually climb out when it's nap time and play for a while and then climb back in and take your nap. This day, your Mommy thinks you just didn't have the energy to climb back in to sleep, so you went to sleep in the chair. haha! You are so funny!
This was the first day you climbed out of the crib at Dee Dee's… You didn't climb out once but probably 25-30 times. This is your first time and your first look around the stairs to see what you saw!
Your look when you knew you were caught!
FINALLY, we put you in the play pen and you just didn't have the energy to climb out. :)
You got out of the car saying…."It's Christmas! It's Christmas!" You knew you had a surprise and I think it's hilarious that you think it's Christmas when you get a surprise. :) You wore your Thomas hat for a long time. I love it. You LOVE tomatoes and carrying them around in a cup.
Me and your Mama went to the consignment sale at church and found this scarecrow costume. HAHA! You weren't sure what to think but we think you were TOO cute!
Modeling your new coat that we got you...
You went to your 3rd Yellow Daisy Festival. You did SO good! It was crowded but you were so patient.
You loved the corn that me and your Mommy get every year...
I wanted you to get your picture made with my new wreath. You crack me up! You were like…"WHO is this, Dee Dee?"
We got you some "Dip and Dots!"
We moved Granny and Papa out of their house next door to Dee Dee and Pops! You and your family are moving in early October to be our neighbors! :) Me and you were trying to entertain ourselves in the moving truck! You said, "GO, Dee Dee…GO! Do it again!!!" You loved to run up and down the ladder.
You are so much fun!
After we finished moving, you and Co Chri played the organ. I can see music in your future. :)
Happy Grandparent's Day! Me and Pops are so thankful we have you and Bennett.
This is the first picture that you drew me and Pops.
Your Mommy had these made for us… Your first Christmas ornaments. LOVE!
I love to watch you running around the yard. You are going to LOVE having so much yard to play in.
This is your plane puzzle that Dee Dee bought you at the Yellow Daisy Festival...
You are helping Pops give Bow Valley a bath. You loved helping!
It's officially FALL and oh how our family loves fall. Cool weather. Pumpkins. Colorful leaves. Camping. SO much fun! The thing that makes fall different for us now is that fall also starts flu season. SO much more to think about. SO many germs to avoid.
We would LOVE for you to read why staying away from germs is so important for Aspen and our family (see the link below)…
We sure don't want germs to stop Aspen from living life but we have to be more aware and smart about things from September - March... even more than spring and summer.
Back to the fun we had in September… :)
Dee Dee and Pops went to Florida on a business trip and brought you back 2 balls… You love balls of all sizes!
The first time the ball went under the truck, we tried not to do it again. THEN Pops showed you how to get the ball out with a broom and we did it "again and again and again!" :)
You love to push Bennett. You said, "Come on my Dee Dee!" … ahhh, melt my heart! :)
You're getting ready to move in next to Dee Dee and Pops THIS next weekend! WHOA! How exciting! You are playing while we are doing some things next door.
You love to "drive" from Dee Dee's down to your house… SO sweet!
We went to Lowe's and Cracker Barrel when Dee Dee and Pops got home from camping! You are so silly! You love to run and play… sometimes DaDa has to carry you on his shoulders to keep you from running off. :)
By this time next month, you should be moved in next to Dee Dee and Pops and we are SO excited!
We're gonna party, party, party like it's 1999! *** Dee Dee and Aspen do special dance! :)
Prayer Needs this month:
Please be in prayer this month that Aspen and our family will remain healthy. We're praying that the move will be a smooth transition and a good thing for everyone. Please pray that Aspen will gain some weight and certainly keep what he's gained recently. He goes back to the doctor on Friday, October 23rd for a weight check.
We have so much to be grateful for! Thank you, Lord, for another month of feeling well. Thank you, Lord, for the advances in research. Thank you that Bennett has been healthy as well… which helps keep Aspen healthy. Thank you for cooler weather and so much more!
Aspen continues to represent "A Wish for Wendy" fundraiser that takes place on October 24th. Aspen is a team ambassador.

*** Tonight your Mommy was over for girl's night out and you Face-timed her again, again and again. That was the first time for you to have the phone (alone) and call and call and ummm…. call. SO cute!
