Happy 10 years and 9 months sweet, Aspen!
December has been full of highs and lows. You've had Covid and what we think is the flu. But PRAISE the Lord we were able to celebrate Christmas together as a family.
The month started out with. basketball games! This is your first year to play and you are learning as LOT! This is one of the few things that you haven't "mastered" right away - it's been so fun to watch you learn and grow and take it all in! You are doing great and we are having SO much fun watching you play. You play at Meridian or at the gym in Monroe. You are the Kings! And your jersey is purple. How cool is that? You are number 11. 💜
Look at that long stride! You can run really fast!
Speaking of running.... it makes my heart so happy when I see you running up the hill to see me/us.
You two get along MOST of the time but sometimes you can drive B crazy! 😂
Trying to wrangle the goats into the back pasture was quite challenging!
Your Mom plays basketball with ya'll! SO fun! 🤩
She's such a good Mama. She even picks you up if you're asleep. Look how big you are though!
We went to the Monroe Christmas parade. It was a beautiful night for it. Cold but beautiful!
You so silly!
The parade lasted always 2 hours. SO GOOD! We ate pizza afterwards!
Your games are usually Monday nights and Saturdays.
You two play rough but have so much fun!
Oh NO! You came down with Covid. You were miserable for a few days but praise you did well!
I watched out the window and some days outside. I missed y'all a bunch!
Your Mom came in the room and found the chocolate ice cream... GONE! 😂
Some days you just need some sunshine no matter how you're feeling! 😞
Once you were feeling better we saw y'all from a distance outside....
Look how old you look! Pops and I drove in the driveway and saw you out hunting. I rolled the window down and took this picture because I couldn't believe how grown you looked. ❤️
I love when you push our trashcan up!
You were SO excited when you tested negative for Covid and could hug me and Pops!
You helped me wrap presents! You are a helper!
We celebrated Bennett's birthday at the park in Snellville....
And we walked through the lights and sang loudly... The 12 days of Christmas! 🎄
We saw the live Nativity!
Christmas Eve was warm and we played outside before going to church... it rained on Christmas Day for TWO days! This is the first Christmas we went outside for about 5 minutes.
SO handsome!
We played games on Christmas Eve after church. This was our first year to play "white elephant"!
You were excited that you got a s'mores maker!
We also played a game to get the ball in the muffin pan for a prize! Surprisingly you didn't do so well! Dee Dee beat you... 😂
We read the Christmas story and Pops talked to y'all! It was special!
We come up from your house to spend the night on Christmas Eve! I never take it for granted. I feel SO blessed that we get to spend this time with y'all! 💛
Going to sleep....
Putting cookies out for Santa! You do so well with Thomason and Truett and going along with "Santa!" 🎅
Christmas morning is special!
You got boots and tons of pellets and other things from "Santa!" You whispered to your Mama... THANK YOU! 😃
Stocking time!
Shocker! I only got ONE picture of you opening presents. We got you a scope for your gun and some leather and tools and I can't remember the other things! 😂 You're opening a puffy vest you asked for!
Happy birthday, Jesus!
We couldn't take pics outside so we made the stairs work!
Santa brought you some Diamond Art...
Making s'mores!
This is what happens when you go in Publix with your Mama! You really wanted these HUGE apples! 🍎
We celebrated Christmas at Top Golf the day after...
Pops sited in your gun!
This was the last day we saw you because your Dad got sick with a 103 fever and then YOU got sick and then (and now) I'm sick with y'all ! We are sure praying your poor Mama doesn't get it. She's been sick a lot of November and December and Pops was too. I can't wait for germs to GO AWAY!
This has been a month of sweet memories with a whole lot of sickness intertwined. I am so grateful we've done "ok!"
We are hoping to celebrate New Years Eve together but it's becoming more and more unlikely! We will see what tomorrow brings!
You are smart and can fix and do most things with your hands. You even wrangled the goats in by yourself. You are inventive like your Dad! You are sassy and can be super stubborn. You are also sweet and pull on my heartstrings! You are competitive and determined. You are an outdoorsman through and through. You are constantly looking for squirrels or to trap an armadillo or raccoon. You have a great shot! Hopefully you'll be well soon and can go woodcock hunting with Pops! You love to be outside and can spend hours wandering the property.
I sure do LOVE you to the moon and back and back again! Praying for a healthier January and New Year.
Happy 10 years and 9 months, Aspen! ♥️
