3 1/2 years old + 2 months... Thanksgiving month and how thankful we all are!

Happy 44 months, Aspen!

Thanksgiving was this month and I couldn't be more THANKFUL for you. I'm thankful for how well you are doing and for the JOY you bring to all of our lives. I'm so thankful, also, that I get to be your Dee Dee.

November has been a good month for you. You've had a cold and a yucky nose and some extra "treatments" thrown in there but you haven't had to be on an anti-biotic. PRAISE!

We started out the end of October going to The Cross church to "trick or treat!"

You make the cutest "Ryder" I have ever seen. :) You love Paw Patrol. Sky and Ryder are your favorites.
You both are the silliest of silly! :)

You loved seeing all the animals in their petting zoo but your favorite thing to do was to do the bouncy houses. :)  Every time you pass by the church these days you say..."Hey, that's where I jumped in the bouncy house!" Too cute!

You sure can hang with the big kids... you love to climb and jump! You continue to remind us that you are BIG and STRONG and Bennett is a baby. LOL

Pops took a picture of us trying to get a "selfie." We were trying our best! LOL

Dada hooked B's car to your van. You love to "taxi" Bennett around the yard.

But... when you really want some "action", you hop on your John Deer for a fast ride! :)

Dee Dee bought you a "connect the dots" book to help you recognize your numbers and work on your fine motor skills. You LOVE to learn.

Other than Paw Patrol, your favorite toy is a "grabber grab" as we call them. Anything that pick something else up. You've got Pops grabber right now. You LOVE the fajitas "grabber" at Frontera's. You crack us all up.

Trying to catch the ball while driving! What a hoot!

We went to Nelly and Co-Chri's house to celebrate Nelly's birthday. We played games and had so much fun!

Nelly let you help her cook!

You love to "hide and seek" and scare other people. You and B and Co-Chri are under there somewhere. LOL

One of the things you love to do at Dee Dee's house is do puzzles...  You are so good at it.

You also love to play "pool" with Pops on his phone.

And play on the I-Pad that Dee Dee gave you!

You and Pops played "Paw Patrol" in the basement for a long time... so cute!

You look like such a big boy with your hair cut!

We were out of quarters but you couldn't resist sitting in the Paw Patrol car...

We got you a "Cool as a Moose" shirt in Black Mountain. You look so grown up here!

Watching you play soccer has been so much fun. You have learned so much and had a great time! You did so well... Dada let you play a game afterwards.

We went to Home Depot and you tripped on your shoestring and fell hard on the concrete. You are so sweet! I'm thankful you weren't hurt more.

We went to the Mall of GA to see Santa and you were not a fan. Santa wasn't on the "nice list" either! LOL

On November 15th... we went for your every 2-3 month check-up at the CF clinic. You have to wear a mask to keep from spreading germs to others and to not get germs yourself. People with CF should not be within 6 feet of each other because they can spread things to others with CF.

This is always a really long day for us. We're usually there for 3 hours or so... in a small room. We wait for the nurse, nutritionist, respiratory therapist, social worker and doctor to come and visit and sometimes someone from research.

This was the nutritionist and she was very happy with your progress.

You weighed 34.1 pounds and in the 50th percentile for weight
You were 40 inches and in the 65th percentile for height

What a PRAISE! You take a daily appetite stimulant 4-5 times a week and continue to drink your "milkshakes" (carnation drink) and that is helping so much!

Washing your hands is so important... so we often entertain by washing your hands while we wait! LOL
Keeping you calm for 3 hours... is... well, text to impossible! :)

You sure do love your sweet Mommy!

You are getting more and more comfortable with your CF doctor.  She loves you!

She listened to your lungs and said they sounded wonderful. SO grateful. She originally wanted a CT scan of your lungs when you turned 3... but she's going to wait until you turn 4 at your yearly    check-up. We are so so thankful you haven't cultured anything in your lungs. We pray that continues. EVERY day.

Dr. S let you play with her stethoscope.... that's what you bought Bella for her birthday. Who knows... you might be a doctor one day! :)

We got you to color for a little while...

Dee Dee colored the milk chocolate and mint ice cream and you colored the dark chocolate. You are staying in the lines so well!

We had no idea they were going to try this... but you tried your first PFT (pulmonary function test). They typically don't use the results until you are 5 or 6 and able to do the technique just as it should be... but you did awesome!!! We were all so proud of you!

You made good use of the "grabbers" they used for your nose and promptly plugged B's nose. LOL

Your last soccer game of the season was Thanksgiving week. You were so proud of your medal.

Your team was 3 and 4 year olds... SO proud of you!

You came up to Dee Dee's and we made gingerbread men. You cracked the egg and stirred and even put the batter in the pan! We decorated them too!

Thanksgiving morning we went to Cracker Barrell for breakfast. You love playing this game with Dada.

So thankful everyone was well and the weather was beautiful on Thanksgiving Day!

You keep us all rolling!

What a sweet family picture!

Happy Thanksgiving sweet boy!

You had fun playing with Grady...

And eating at the kids table with Summer and Steven...

Once everyone left... you and B played with Papa!

On Black Friday... you and me and Mommy and Nelly went to Atlantic Station. You warmed up to Santa a little more this time. He was so sweet!

We went to Kilwin's and you insisted on "that sucker!" HAHAHA

Fist bumps for Santa because he knew exactly what you wanted for Christmas!

You were SO good while we went Black Friday shopping. When we were almost done... you said..."I'm hungry, Mommy! I want a really, really, really, really BIG cheeseburger... your favorite. So you got a REALLY BIG cheeseburger for dinner and you ate every bite of it.

Dee Dee loves play dates with you...

One of Dee Dee's favorite days of the year.... going to get our Christmas tree! We always go to The Family Tree in Snellville to pick out a new Christmas ornament...

Y'all are so silly! :)

After we get an ornament... we go to Frontera's for dinner! And...then to get our tree!

You and me and Mommy, Nelly and Bennett made Christmas sugar cookies after we bought our tree.

I love this one... All of our hands!

SO much fun!

You loved to decorate the cookies...

The final products...

We decorated our tree! SO many ornaments to choose from! You had more fun than I imagined. I loved watching you LOVE to put our tree up. You said in your prayers... "Thank you for Dee Dee and Pops and thank you for my TWO trees!"  Preciousness!

We let you put the first ornament on the tree... the Santa I had on my tree when I was your age.

You helped us get the ornaments to the top of our tall tree. Her name is... Grace!

The next day... your family put up your tree! So beautiful!

You love to run up to Dee Dee's to play. You love to run in the garage door so that I can say... "Who's at my door!!!??" You love puzzles and all things Paw Patrol. You love fishing and "grabbing" anything with a grabber thing. LOL You love to come to Dee Dee's and play in our bedroom. You love to play outside and get a little hyper on the days you can't go outside. The forests in NC have been burning and causing smoke as far down as our area. It hasn't been safe to go outside on some days. It's suppose to rain tonight for the first time in 45 or so days. #Thankful

You had your fish tank taken away this month. You kept on throwing things in the fish tank. When Mommy found the electronic thermometer in the fish tank... that was the last straw. LOL You are mischievous and some days like to "pester" your Mommy. You even recruit Bennett to help you. Most days you are sweet and loving although a little stubborn. :)  You don't give up easily... which we're praying will serve you well with your CF when you are older.

You are hilarious. You are my buddy! You are growing up so quickly! I'm excited for December and all the fun things that we have to look forward to. I'm praying that you and all of our family will be healthy this month and that we will remember the reason that we celebrate Christmas... because JESUS's birth is the reason we have HOPE in Him.  Happy Birthday month, Jesus. I can't wait to sing to our heavenly Father on Christmas day at breakfast.

Aspen... your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again!

Prayer needs:

Aspen goes back to the CF clinic in 2 months vs 3. He will return in January.

* We're praying that his weight will hold at the 50th percentile and he will continue to grow in height.
* That he will not culture anything with his throat swab
* That he will continue to learn how to do PFT's and that his lungs will remain clear
* That Aspen and all of our family will not get the flu and Aspen's lungs will stay healthy
* For Aspen to have determination and perseverance as he learns more and more about "why" he does what he does on a daily basis to stay healthy
* For Lindsey and Chris as they care for Aspen and Bennett and do all they can to keep him healthy

We're thankful for EVERYONE that prays for our sweet Aspen! Thank you for loving us and supporting sweet Aspen in his "fight" for a CURE!

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!
