How can you possibly be 3 1/2 years old? Your Dee Dee couldn't love you any more! :)

Happy, Happy 3 1/2 years sweet Aspen!

In the blink of an eye... you are 1/2 way through the 3's and on your way to 4. I couldn't be more grateful that I am able to watch you grow and change almost daily. You are hilarious and say new things every day. You are starting to "reason" things out more and more. It's so much fun for all of us and my heart is so THANKFUL you are living next door to Dee Dee and Pops!

You love to learn. You're favorite thing to do right now is to make puzzles! Big puzzles. Little puzzles. Round puzzles. Bennett's puzzles... ha! We have a lot of Dee Dee and Aspen "puzzle times!" You are so good. I love to watch your "wheels turn!" Your favorite color was orange but you're starting to prefer green. You love cheeseburgers, candy,  your milkshakes and Dee Dee's watermelon. :)

Mommy is having to do a weekly weigh in with the CF clinic. You are holding steady. You are in the 47th percentile for weight and we're grateful. You still take the appetite stimulant most days and it seems to be helping some; we are grateful that you don't seem to have any adverse side effects.

You can work on puzzles for hours...

Mommy and Dada signed you up for your first team sport! Soccer! You are on the "Kangeroos!" You are SO excited and so are we! :)

Dee Dee bought you a ball to practice in the yard...

You are such a natural. I can't wait to see you in action with your team.

Dada was looking at one of the books that I made. You love to go through books and your blogs and look at things that happened.

Dee Dee and Pops went to Alaska this month. We were gone on Labor Day weekend... for 10 days. You and Mommy went to Hobby Lobby and got the stuff to make this chore chart. SOOOO cute! You love moving the stars. Y'all did such a great job!

You and Bennett take turns watching your favorite movie. Right now you like Paw Patrol the best!

While we were in Alaska... every time I saw a train, I thought of you!

We saw this board in Seward, AK and I had to write that "Before I die I want to CURE CF!"

We brought you back an Alaskan train and some of the animals we saw... bear, moose and more!

We got back on 9-11-16... Grandparent's Day! And you and Mommy, Daddy and Bennett met us in the driveway. I love what your Mommy helped you make for us.

We went to Zaxby's and you were feeling ok but by the time dinner was over... you had a fever of 102.

We went to the doctor the next day and Dr. H says you and Bennet have another variation of hand, foot and mouth disease.

You are learning to wash your hands longer since you had e-coli last month. You sing your ABC's while you wash your hands! :)

Dee Dee was being silly and trying to lay down on your Thomas the Train sofa. :)

Sometimes you are a little stubborn and refuse to say you're sorry or listen. This was one of those times. LOL

I've never seen someone that loved puzzles any more than you do!

I love this picture that your Mommy took of your feet propped up watching the "Good Dinosaur!" That's B's favorite movie and yours (at the moment) is Paw Patrol. :) Your Mommy got you a Tony the Tiger chair at our church consignment sale. I asked you if I could sit in it and you said..."No! It's much too little for you. You can sit in the big chair!"

Bahahaha! You are so right, Little Mister!

Nelly made cupcakes for a shower and you loved them....

You love to ride on my foot. Dee Dee loves to give you a ride but can't last very long. LOL

Dee Dee's boys!!!

You love to build things. You love to hammer. You love to let Dee Dee know that this is Dada's hammer and I can't use it. LOL! You're beginning to learn that there are some things that are much more "boy!"

We told you not to go too fast down the driveway on your bike... so you carry it. :) You are so big and you are so strong and you love, love to remind us! SO cute.

You don't like Bennett to help with your puzzles because "Bennett is a baby and I'm a big boy!" :)  This is one of your new puzzles.

We went fishing at Meridian. You can cast your line, reel it in and you're learning to take the hook out. I LOVE the look you have on your face! You think your Dada is hilarious!

Watching your Dada get the hook out of the fishes mouth!

Your Dada is giving you a "lesson" and you are patiently watching!

LOL!

It's a Dee Dee and Aspen date! :)

We went to Moe's...

And to Carmichael's. You got a new cup and a book for your stickers...

And... a Dee Dee date wouldn't be complete without putting together a puzzle and playing with stickers...

I always let you help me cook if you are at our house. You love helping and I love teaching you. You are cooking green beans. :)

Just hanging with Pops!

Your Mommy and Dada decided that they wanted to sell Delilah. Your Mommy loved her so much but it was best to get a camper with more room. You were so cute helping your Mommy wash her.

You sold her to a lady that lives in Loganville. We were sad to see her go but felt like it was meant to be. This was the day you sold her.

You and Mommy and Dada and Bennett went to an RV show. You loved trying out the bunk beds.

Dee Dee and Pops were in Florida, so you couldn't stay with us. You were POOPED out at the end of the day. Your Mommy and Dada couldn't wake you up when y'all went to eat at Frontera.

Dee Dee bought you some pumpkin cookies at Trader Joes. YUM!

Dee Dee and Pops were in Florida and missed your first soccer game. I was so sad but Mommy took lots of pictures. You had SO much fun and I loved hearing all about it.

Look how big you are! I'm so happy that you love soccer so much!

Mommy helped you learn and she said you did so well!

Dee Dee and Pops came home from Florida and you all had gotten rid of Delilah and had bought a new camper. :) It's an "Aspen Trail" and I think as of now... y'all are going to call him, Rocky! We can't wait to go camping with y'all!

You genuinely acted like you missed me while I was gone out of town. That made Dee Dee's heart so happy. You gave me the biggest and best hug. Mommy and B went to Walmart but you stayed and we put together puzzles! :)

You are so funny! You love to make silly faces. You love to spend time with Dee Dee and my heart is so happy that you do. You love to drive Bennett crazy by letting him think you are going to "get him." But... you also love to take care of B!  You wake up every morning saying...."The sun came up, the moon went down... MOMMY!" That makes us all laugh! If the sun is up... you think you should be too! :)

You laid down in Dee Dee's bed one afternoon and said you were tired. But just as soon as you laid down.... you jumped up and said... "The sun is up, the moon went down....I not tired!" LOL You are so funny!

We are all so ready for cooler temperatures. Tomorrow is the first day that the temperatures are supposed to be "cooler"... 79 for a high and 55 for a low. We can't WAIT! We are praying that y'all will be healthy and well and have so much fun camping! Dee Dee and Pops are going with y'all some! :)

For those that are following Aspen's blog... we thank you for following his journey.

There are so many new things in the works in the world of CF! Just this week... the drug Orkambi was approved for children from ages 6-11 with two copies of the DF508. Aspen only has one of those mutations but it's always SO exciting to see progress being made for ANYONE with CF.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation today announced the official opening of its one-of-a kind cystic fibrosis research facility, based in Lexington, Mass. The lab is designed to identify and test potential therapies for CF, readying them for further development with the ultimate goal of bringing new drugs to people living with the disease.

We are grateful every day for the progress being made that will one day have an impact on Aspen. We #BELIEVE and so badly want to #CURECF !

Specific prayer needs:

* Aspen's weight to continue to increase and for him to stay as close to the 50th percentile as possible
* Aspen to have a healthy month and for his lungs to remain healthy
* Aspen goes back to the CF clinic for his 3 month check-up on November 15th
* For Aspen as he begins to understand that he requires treatments that other children don't
* For Lindsey and Chris as they manage Aspen's care

Aspen... may you persevere in everything you do in life. I'm praying that you will use the stubbornness you have to push through the hard times with your CF. I pray that you will always give CF everything you have. So many teenagers refuse to do their treatments. Just as we are already praying for the woman that the Lord has for you... I'm already praying that you will have just enough stubbornness to never stop doing your treatments when you are old enough to make that choice.

Cystic Fibrosis may be a life shortening disease right now but prayerfully the life span will continue to grow and grow as YOU grow.  What we do know is... God has your days numbered and He has mine and all of our day numbered. We could get run over by a car tomorrow.... we are never promised tomorrow. While we still have BREATH... I'm praying that you will live your life to the fullest and enjoy living every day. I pray that you will give the Lord your life at an early age and not get angry with God over your diagnosis but be an example of his LOVE and His GRACE.

Because you know what... you may have CF but CF does NOT define you. You are no different than any other boy that loves to run and jump and play outside.

Always know that your family is praying for you. Your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and not a day goes by that I don't pray for you! You are so, SO loved by many.

Your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again!

Happy 3 1/2 years old sweet Little Mister!
