A year and a half!!! That sounds so much older than 18 months.

18 months…. A year and a half….6 months from being two years old. No matter how you say his age, it almost seems impossible. I love to look back at the previous month and see how much Aspen has changed in only 30 days.

We will be gone on your 18 month birthday, Aspen… but you are never far from our minds (especially now). We are celebrating your day in ASPEN, CO. I hope we can bring you back here one day with your Mama and Daddy. You would love it here since everything revolves around being OUTSIDE. It was so exciting to drive into the town of Aspen and see so many beautiful Aspen trees. Aspen is a small town that is surrounded by mountains, so in a sense, we have been surrounded by "ASPEN" for the past couple of days. The Aspen trees surrounding me made me think of you and how my love for you is never ending and that reminded me of God's love for all of us…always around us and never ending no matter where we are. <3

We ended the month of August with a family celebration to honor Papa Thomason and his birthday. Aspen is blessed to have a loving Papa.

Three very special fellas!

We are blessed!

We missed Danielle and Chris (Danielle was out of town seeing a friend and Chris was working).

The many faces of sweet, Aspen! He keeps us all laughing! This face is the SWEETEST!

September started off with an exciting night! Aspen attended his very first Atlanta Braves game. We were fortunate enough to get "box seats" and found that to be the only way to see a Braves game with a one year old. ha! I was surprised at how captivated Aspen was with the game.

We believe Aspen's going to really love baseball. Hopefully we will get the opportunity to sit in a box again… who knows, this might become an annual tradition.

I can't believe we were able to get him to stand against the wall. He wanted to show his support for Children's Healthcare since they have done so much for him. :)

Dee Dee and Pops were so glad to be a part of his first baseball game!

Happy Labor Day 2014… We finished off the "summer" with one last swim.

Aspen loves the pool and he loves his Mama!

September was off to a busy, busy start but we couldn't let a year go by without going to the Yellow Daisy Festival. This is a tradition that Lindsey and I started when she was homeschooling in elementary school. I'm thankful that we were able to go last year and again this year with this sweet boy.

He was sooooo good and soooooo POOPED!

We are so grateful to be Aspen's grandparent's. I still haven't gotten used to celebrating grandparent's day for US, but it sure is an honor. Aspen made us this beautiful vase with his handprint on it. #treasured
Movie night in the basement… We all watched Beauty and the Beast!

Aspen loves Chipotle… Black beans, rice and chicken! YUM!

I'm not sure what we will do when the weather gets too cold to go outside. He loves to push, ride and play with his cars and lawn mower.

Happy 28th Birthday, Chris!!! We celebrated his birthday by going to eat Thai and going by Bass Pro. This is what these two wanted… :)

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!

This outfit was so cute on Aspen, we decided he had to have it!

Aspen and his Mama enjoying a walk at the park!

It's been a wonderful month of many blessings and many "firsts!"

Praise the Lord Aspen has been healthy this month. He's had some sweet cuddle times while doing his "shaking vest" with his Mama…which is an answer to prayer and a special time for them.

Aspen's newest thing is telling Bow Valley to SIT. He will say, "SIT…Good girl." He's already a dog trainer in the making. LOL  He's able to tell us when he wants his diaper changed. His Mama and Daddy are hoping that means he will be potty trained early. Aspen will grab a diaper and bring it to you. He loves to count in Spanish. He's able to count to six but "siete" has proven to be a little difficult for him. ha! There isn't much he can't repeat after we say it. He has never had an interest in DVD's until recently. He loves to watch "Thomas the Train" and "Wheels on the Bus."  He will say, "Dee Dee" for miles and miles as I say…"Aspen" back to him. He loves his blanket and carries it with him when he first wakes up. He has started to sing and while we don't know what he's singing, he sure seems to know. He throws his hands in the air and says, "YAY!" He's a talker, just like his Daddy and will talk to anyone about anything. He loves to grab your finger and lead you on a walk. If he wants something and you don't understand what he's saying, he'll lead your hand until you figure it out. He's closing in on 25 pounds and has a wonderful appetite. He loves fruit and his new found love in the fruit department is apples. He's strong willed and opinionated, he's smart and funny. He loves to make people laugh. He won't cuddle for long but when he does, it's the sweetest. He's a charmer for sure and he is 18 months old!!!

As we remember Aspen on his 18th month birthday and are in the town of Aspen… once again I am reminded that just as the Aspen leaves are all around me and I am thinking of Aspen and how precious he is to me and how much I love him…I am reminded that WE are ALL precious in GOD's eyes and He loves us and thinks of us all the time and wants us to think of Him and spend time.

I think it can start with a wish and a PRAYER and end with a cure for sure. We're praying for that daily. Will you join our family in this prayer? There are so many exciting things going on in the CF world. Aspen is a part of "A Wish for Wendy"… an annual softball fundraiser that has raised over 2 million dollars in the past 15 years for a CURE. Aspen is a team "ambassador" and will be representing  a team called, "The Ultimate Sports of Atlanta." This team is sharing Aspen's story on their web pages, Facebook pages and when they are talking to friends and family about donating to support their fundraising efforts - for a cure.  OUR family is motivating this team and their friends and family to give. Please be in prayer that this team will be successful in raising money for a CURE for Aspen and all those with CF. We are grateful that so many people are reaching out and helping and have never even met Aspen or our family.

Please watch this video by One Republic. It's called, "I Live!"

In the words of Aspen's mother, Lindsey….
"Such a sweet video! It'll bring tears to your eyes. Please take a second to watch. How awesome of OneRepublic to put this out there and raise awareness! I want nothing more than for sweet Aspen to be able to say "I lived."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0rxydSolwU

The video is to raise awareness and is about a 15 year old boy that has CF. TOGETHER we can make a difference. Spread the word. Donate. Pray. We feel your prayers and we are grateful to you all!

Happy 18 months, sweet Aspen! Dee Dee loves you more than you could ever know!
