What a busy and incredibly blessed month this has been!
14 months…. So many changes at this age. He is the most precious little boy ever! Ok… maybe since Danny was little! ;)
The month started out with a new addition to our family!
Kobalt's Bow Valley Sunshine Thomason
Pops has a new dog! :) Aspen loves, loves Bow! He has certainly mastered the word, "Bow." He loves her.
Aspen isn't afraid of anything… well, not much. He sure lets Bow get all up in his business!
Aspen loves to be the center of attention. He loves to make people laugh! What he's saying here is: "Good job, Mama!!!! Congratulations for graduating from Georgia State University, Summa Cum Laude. I'm so proud of you." He was giving his speech. :)
Good job, Boo! We are so proud of you. You faced adversity and hard times and still managed to graduate on time, with high honors.
What a wonderful day and celebration!
CELEBRATE good times! :)
Graduation was also on Mother's Day weekend! Happy Mother's Day, Lindsey! I love this picture! Look at those eyes! Both of them! It's so awesome to have your baby be an awesome Mama to HER baby. I'm so proud of the Mama you are, Boo!
My sweet family took me to the sunflower farm (even though the sunflowers were resting) and we had a picnic and walked around. I love my family!
Aspen loves anything with wheels! He loves tractors and cars and….
Right after Mother's Day it was time for his 3 month check up at the CF clinic. He was getting a little stir crazy in this room! ha! He was 22.4 pounds and 29 1/2 inches. Praise the Lord that he is still in the green zone for weight to height ratio. His weight is down a bit... around the 50th percentile. But… the never stops! No wonder! :) He has a huge appetite. YAY!
The doctor did a chest x-ray and blood work. His chest x-ray showed some mucus buildup that they weren't expecting. He had some when he was in the hospital but they believed it was from lying flat and not moving much. They said it was actually "better" than it was then but not gone like they hoped it would be. He sounds CLEAR to listen to though. Praise the Lord.
His liver numbers (GGT) - Gamma-glutamyl transferase were normal! The "normal range" is 0-51 and his number was 9! I only say this because it was in the 800's!!! This was back when they believed that he might need a liver transplant. It has slowly gone down but this time it was in the normal range! We were so thankful!
Because his lungs had mucus build-up….the doctors added another breathing treatment to his regimen and increased his vest from 20 minutes, twice a day to 30 minutes, twice a day. This is Aspen doing his vest with his Pops!
On May 17th……
31 of our friends and family gathered at the Georgia Tech campus to walk and raise awareness for CF. Our team doubled our goal and raised over $6,200. The Atlanta teams combined raised 1.66 million. How awesome is that??? There is a medicine that is in trial that could possibly help Aspen. We are so grateful to each and every person that supported us through Chick-fil-A night, my Tupperware party, my birthday celebration (money in lieu of gifts), our t-shirts, and generous donations. WE APPRECIATE everyone that helped more than you could ever know!
Our amazing family!
Most of our team after the walk…
We have a wonderful young married class at church...
I love my girls and Aspen!
Sweet Raegan, my BFF's daughter, has been praying for Aspen all year at school and won the compassion award at school, in part, because of her love and compassion for Aspen. PRECIOUS!
The walk was a huge success and really encouraged our family!
The excitement didn't stop there:
"OH SNAP!!! I'm going to be a BIG brother!"
We are so excited for Lindsey and Chris. Congratulations!!!! A sweet baby is due in December…around Christmas and we are thrilled for them. She is 10 weeks pregnant. We heard the strong heartbeat (176) and believe it's a girl. :)
A lot of people have asked… so I want to explain:
Yes… this baby has a chance of having CF. The chance is 25%… just like it was with Aspen or with any future children. They have a 50% chance of having a baby that is a carrier (like Lindsey and Chris are) and a 25% chance that the baby won't have CF or be a carrier. Please join us in praying that this baby will be healthy and well.
What a gift from God (like all children are)…. but we believe this is a special gift that wouldn't have happened "naturally" if it weren't for God's hand being involved. Lindsey and Chris weren't trying to get pregnant… at all, but YAY for a new sweet baby coming in to our family.
How cool is that??? God sees and HE knows! He knit this sweet baby in Lindsey's womb!
Psalm 139:13 "You formed my inmost being; You knit me in my mother's womb."
God remembers everything—at all times. There is never a lapse in His memory. He never forgets someone. God is omniscient, which means He knows everything. God's knowledge is as eternal as He is. What God knows now, He has always known and always will know. God doesn't learn new things; He knows them from the beginning. And He doesn't forget what He has learned like we do. We learn new things, but God never does.

Nothing catches God off-guard or takes Him by surprise. God, knowing all things beforehand, has reminded us through His Word that He is in control! Amen!!!
We can't wait to meet this new baby. Lindsey will have to see a geneticist this go-around (because of the CF), so she will be monitored closely. We are so stinking excited though! :) My pink font does not mean ANYTHING! ha
Oh how we all love this little Mister! He loves to be outside! He loves to play with Bow and ride in his cars. He can say Mama, Dada, Dee Dee (did I mention that he said, "Where's Dee Dee?"), Pops, Uncle Chri, Bye Bye, Ball, Balloon, hey, cool and he even said Walmart. ha! But… no Nelly (or Aunt Nelly). I'm thinking he better say that REALLY soon! :)
He knows how to make us CRACK up. He has so many faces (scared face, donkey face, fish face, squish face). I could do these faces for hours! He loves to "get down" to the beat. His Daddy, Chris, can get him moving like no other. He loves to move and shake his booty!
Aspen is so smart. He's learned to turn the TV on! He's in to everything and runs everywhere. He's all boy and is tough as they come!
The many faces of Aspen… This is his fish face. :)
He is so silly!
He loves Smoothie King and his blue car! :)
Happy Birthday, Pops! Celebrating Danny's birthday and Memorial Day….
After a while… Aspen, his Daddy and Bow just chilled in the float! TOO cute!
What a blessed month this has been. Aspen has been healthy. We raised a LOT of money for a CURE for CF. Lindsey graduated from college. We celebrated Mother's day and Danny's birthday. Lindsey and Chris found out they were expecting and celebrated their 2nd year of marriage. SO MUCH excitement.
We know that God is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine! Trusting Him…
