Happy 9 years and 10 months sweet, Aspen!
You are growing way too fast for your Dee Dee! You are so smart and very creative and can do anything you set your mind to. You love to make things and come up with ideas for things - just like your Daddy. You are determined and keep trying until you "master" something. You have a stubborn streak - again like your Daddy and perhaps your Dee Dee! ๐คฃ You and I are alike in a lot of ways... even that we don't like thick coats/jackets and so much more! We call each other "Bopsie" twins! ๐
You continue to amaze us with all things outdoors. You can run super fast. You can kill just about anything with your blow dart gun - squirrels and even a bee. ๐ You love hunting and are going through a phase where you love all things Pops has. You love his hats and his shoes and his pants. It's so stinking cute!
You are so sweet - you always always run to give me a big HUG and come to the front door to say hey! You are also going through a "pestering" phase... where you are testing your limits! ๐
You lose your "weapons" about as much as you have them... but I know this is a growing phase for someone who is almost TEN! ๐ต
We started the month with you practicing your bow and going up to Ace to talk to them about classes!
You wanted a hat like Pops and your Mama got you one for Christmas!
You help care for y'alls rabbits! One of the rabbits had four babies this month but she killed all four somehow.
We love a good game of U-Dog! Happy New Years Eve!
You snoozed a little while but ended up staying up past 2AM!
We had a few fireworks! You think you are old enough to do whatever Pops and your Daddy do.
You love to pour our apple juice!
You two play for hours outside! I'm so thankful y'all are able to and aren't stuck inside ALL day long like you would be at school.
You are very artistic!
We are going to Church at the Grove now and this is the first time you are doing communion with your family after you asked the Lord into your heart. It was a sweet moment! ๐งก I'm praying for you to continue to abide with the Lord and to always seek Him in all that you do!
Putting together a paper bird we got you for Christmas!
Our first hike of the New Year with you! We went to Miller's Gap to Preacher's Rock. It was a 4 1/2 mile hike with over 1,000 feet of elevation. Preacher's Rock was the first hike I took you on... just you and me and I've been wanting to take your Mama. Yay for an outdoors day!
Always looking for heart shaped rocks! I love it and I love YOU!
We saw a little bit of ice on the trail!
I love hiking with you!
I looked over and saw you just taking it all in. I love to do that too! You are turning into more of a mountains guy and I love it!
I love when we get a "boots" picture. You are wearing a size 5. AMAZING!
You climb on anything you can find...
And you jump down like it's nothing. You climbed this tree like it was nothing. You have amazing upper body strength!
Stopping on the hike to filter some water. You love to do that! Part of this hike was the AT and part of it wasn't.
Two monkeys! ๐ ๐
Trying to help Bennett with his blowdart gun!
Mastering your pogo stick that Kristy gave you.
Woodcock hunting with your Daddy and Pops!
Your Mama took y'all to pick up the pottery that we painted. It turned out so good!
I love when y'all come up to eat lunch! Your Mama is the best! She made you enchiladas and delivered them. I can't wait for it to be a little warmer!
We took your bow up to Ace to test the weight - I think it was 38 pounds after they adjusted it. You got to shoot a few arrows too for about an hour.
Beautiful day to go to Ben Burton park in Athens. We were going to fish and hike but it has been raining too much and the river was flowing WAY too fast!
You found me a heart shaped leaf!
I love when you grab our hand to walk! Pops was explaining to you why it was hard to fish and that you needed some lighter string on your pole!
We climbed up some rocks and sat over the river...
Y'all have loved your basketball goal!
Your baby bunnies are getting BIG! ๐ฐ
I am wanting to have a little more "intentional" time with you alone and B too! Me and you went to Taco's and Beer for lunch! I love our time together.
You spent the night because you were going to a 10AM archery class the next day! I love to snuggle with you!
You brought your new way to keep your meds. Look how grown you look!
We played all sorts of games! You got your tickle box going. I thought it was hilarious. Pops did not. hahaha!
Pops shot his dart inside your dart. WHOA!
I had a fly on my arm at Ace and you actually caught it! LOL
I got your Mama this new whipped cream maker and she loves it! Y'all do too!
What can I say... I try. LOL
Y'all took a Friday off school and we went to Cherokee Bluffs. We had been before and you loved it!
We went on a 2 mile hike and then we fished and went to the playground!
The bluffs are so fun! You love to run up overhead and look down!
We played basketball to see who could get the ball in first and I won! LOL
Your Dad planned a family day out that started with doughnuts!
You two are buds - most of the time! LOL
Your Mama got into the basketball action this month too!
It's a busy end to the month. We haven't seen you as much lately. We went hiking on Friday and you went hunting with Pops on Saturday and your Daddy and B - dove hunting but when y'all got home you were tired. Everyone was so we didn't hang much and today... you are sick and couldn't go to church. You were SO sad! I love that you love going to church and that we have found a place we are beginning to get connected with. I am praying you feel MUCH better soon and that it's just a cold!
I'm looking forward to February - to warmer temperatures (even though it's still winter we get some warmer days) and longer daylight hours. March and April are my favorite months - we will start planning our celebrations! LOL
Happy 9 years and 10 months Aspen! Your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again!
It's time to start planning what we can do special for your 10th! WOOO HOOOO!
