9 years and 5 months - you are at clinic today! ๐Ÿงก

Happy 9 years and 5 months sweet Aspen! ๐Ÿ’›

You've had a great month. You truly are changing so FAST! You've changed over to the pre-teen that we've seen coming. You are fiercely independent. You are determined and stubborn. ๐Ÿ˜† You are extremely competitive - cough cough - I SO get that. You have a temper and have to reign that in at times but boy did the Lord bless YOU with just the personality you need to deal with CF. I am SO proud of you.

You think you can do anything and you usually can. You want to try ANYTHING. Your Mama put Bible tabs on Bennett's Bible but you would have NO part of her putting yours on. You did your Bible and did a stellar job. You have incredible eye/hand coordination. You love to hunt most anything. You are an excellent fisherman. You LOVE you some U-dog - we have had so much fun with this new game Dee Dee and Pops bought. Squirrel season just opened and you are really excited about that. You love all things outdoors and are excited for the days to get cooler soon.

You started out the month fishing with your Dad! You all love the Coleman River in Clayton, GA. Look at your catch for the day.

Time was short but you DO know how to clean fish or squirrels. Like I said... you are determined.

You all had a stray kitten show up at your house. You feed it for a few days and loved playing with him.

Co-Chri's Mom - Tammy was up here and you loved showing her. Bow Valley tried to eat him. ๐Ÿฅบ Your Dad gave it away. It just made sense but you enjoyed it while it was around.

You have a sassy sense of humor. You keep us laughing!

You don't like to lose but you ARE getting better - most of the time!

You are a master of your blow dart gun! I mean really! You shot this fish IN the creek.

I was able to help you some with your language. I love the tiny bit I am able to.

Look at those sweet freckles. I took a picture to show you! ๐Ÿ’›

Melting you some butter for popcorn!

Your Mama got an air popcorn maker!

You drive the golf cart all by yourself now - with someone in it - but you are in control. You are a good driver‼️

You think making Truett laugh is so much fun!

I love how much we all love U-DOG!

You are a fan of Sundance!

We went to Frontera's. You get to carry Truett around and love every minute of it.

๐Ÿ˜†

Always wrestling!

You intentionally spent some time with Bennett hunting this week. I love to watch you two!

Pops threw out some wildflower seeds. We've had so much fun cutting them!

My heart is SO thankful every time I see you running up the hill to our house!

You came to show us the picture you drew during school...

You wanted to frame it and Pops help you build a frame!

Always catching fish or frogs or Charlie's or turtles... OR!

You all have so much to do outside!

You think it's hilarious to attack your Dad when he gets home from work. I love to watch y'all play!

You love to wrestle with B too!

OH MY HEART! Some days you come up just to say HEY! This day you just hung around and talked. SO grown. I love that we have such great conversations these days!

This tiny MONSTER or snapping turtle ๐Ÿคช showed up in our creek!

It was HUGE!

Your Dad took it to a local creek that is bigger than ours!

You wanted to help your Dad weed eat. LOOK at you!

I love looking out the window to see you two exploring!

Your Mama is rocking homeschooling you two!

You had NO doubt you could put your Bible tabs in and you were right!  ๐Ÿ’›

Pops gave you a magnifying glass and you are showing me how to burn a leaf. Fascinating!

Sundance used these birds for training and you got to hold one afterwards! Look how old you look? ๐Ÿฅฐ

Lunch time shenanigans ๐Ÿงก

OH MY HEART!!!! ๐Ÿงก

I will NEVER forget 8-24-2022. I got the incredible news that I am CANCER free after 5 years. This is the year Dr. Gonzalez releases me. He told me if my kidney cancer didn't return after 5 years, I have a better than 99% chance of it not returning. I've had 7 CT scans waiting for this day.

I was concerned that I didn't let y'all know I was coming down but got on the golf cart and headed down with Pops! I see y'all outside with these beautiful flowers and a HUGE "5"! I had NO idea and it brought me to tears. It was SOOOO sweet for your Mama to arrange. She said you took special effort to pick out the flowers you thought I would love. Oh goodness! You did SO well. They were beautiful. I took a picture and will remember it forever. You are so sweet. Y'all are so sweet. Such a blessing to your Dee Dee! ๐Ÿ’›

You went to your bedroom and came back with this shirt. I LOVE that you changed to an old shirt and drew this. SO special. I couldn't love you more! ๐Ÿ’›

Our daily WORDLE game! ๐Ÿ˜†

And... we're off! We are headed to Frontera's to celebrate with Nelly and her crew.

We went back to their house to play for a few!

Your Dad took you and B for a weekend at the Coleman River! You all caught 29 ‼️ fish and had so much fun! You spent two nights.

Look at you grilling out!

You love to trout fish!

While y'all were in the mountains, me and Pops and your Mama went to Columbus to get Pop's new Bronco. When you got home - you went for a ride!

I missed YOU!

And we ALL missed U-dog - so we had a match! You are competitive and get a little sassy while playing! ๐Ÿคฃ

Today was Papa Thomason's heavenly birthday! We miss him.

You had your clinic visit at Emory. It's been FIVE months since you were there. That's the longest it's ever been (your last one was canceled and had to be rescheduled for today). Your Mama said you did AMAZING!!! You normally have to be held down but look at you GO! You got your IV like a champ! They were so impressed and I was too!

You had to be there at 8AM and didn't leave until around 3:45pm. It makes for a LONG day. Your Mama is so smart to bring your iPad and games. You two had a lot of fun in between visits.

You did a 4 hour glucose exam today at research and you failed the test with a 151. It wasn't TOO elevated but enough to make them continue testing. You will wear a monitor for 10 days to see if you have problems. They don't expect any issues but they want to be certain.

You were so brave but not a fan of this contraption.

Because your weight is a BMI of 10% - they need to make sure your glucose isn't preventing you from gaining weight. They will discuss having a feeding tube put in when you go back in December unless you gain a substantial amount of weight - which isn't likely to happen.

You gained 2 pounds but grew an inch - and that's always a hard balance.

Your PFT's were 104! You rocked that part. You actually enjoy doing PFT's and I'm grateful. If you have to do it... you might as well have fun! That's where your competitive nature is such a blessing!
Dr. S said your lungs sound clear. That's always a praise!

SO many people are praying for you and we are so grateful.

Prayer requests -

* For your weight to increase

* Your glucose numbers to be normal

* For your cultures to come back normal

* For wisdom for your Mama and Daddy as they decide if a feeding tube would be best for you in the long-run

We continue to give the LORD all the praise and the glory for how well you have done. You are living your best life in our little compound. I am forever grateful for the ability to watch you and Bennett grow. You are such a blessing to us all and your Dee Dee couldn't love you more!

You wanted to celebrate how well you did today but going to Scoops in Monroe. We stopped by to pick up a book that Mrs. Julie had for you - she wasn't there. That was so sweet of her.

Scoops was out of Italian ice that you love so much - you opted for orange sherbet! ๐Ÿงก

Mrs. Julie ordered you a special book about hunting! SO sweet!

You are wearing this glucose monitor for 10 days. You weren't happy about it but I was so proud of how you handled it.

I made dinner for us tonight! We had chicken tacos in the crockpot! You were chopping the lettuce for your Mama. You LOVE to help and are such a good helper. It was fun helping your Mama with dinner after such a long day and we loved eating with y'all. You wanted to play U-dog but it was too late. Soon! ๐Ÿ’›

I love you to the moon and back and back again! ๐ŸŒ™

Happy monthly birthday! Welcome September and cooler temperatures. We've been waiting for you! ๐Ÿงก
