Happy 9 years and 9 months sweet, Aspen!
You started out the month going for your clinic visit. Your Mama took you to Taco Bell before your appointment. Bennett stays with Dee Dee so you get some great quality time with your Mama. Your eyes were a little big... you are way past the kids menu LOL but you sometimes ask for two quesadillas.
This was possibly the fastest clinic visit on record. I can't remember who you didn't see... but lets just say it went by fast! YAY! Dr S didn't mention the feeding tube (your Mama had prepared you and everything) so that was a sigh of relief. You had gained a couple of pounds... but like always, you had also grown an inch. You are getting really tall! Your glucose monitor evaluation came back good... praise!
I love when we get the big send-off for trips! Pop's and I went to NC for the weekend...
You really wanted to catch a squirrel or a raccoon but you caught another possum. The only problem was you opened the cage and he got into the garage. Pops was a trooper to get him out for you!
It had already been shot... but you finished it so he wouldn't suffer.
Playing a new UNO game by the fire...
SO grateful we were able to enjoy the Monroe Christmas parade this year! It was such a warm day. It felt funny but it was kind of nice too!
We got there early and ate dinner and people watched!
That meant we got really good seats too!
We got to see Thomason after the parade!
Woo hoo! You finally caught the squirrel!
I enjoyed y'all lighting some of the Advent candles with me this season!
I put this book away thinking y'all had gotten too old for it but you asked me to get it out! SO sweet!
Making brown sugar cookies with your Mama!
We were able to play a couple of games of U-dog this month!
You love to help! You helped me make chili!
We celebrated Bennett's birthday at Lake Lanier...
It almost felt like we had chased snow...
You are SUPER picky with your pants so when you find some you like....
I got y'all a bucket of snowballs to play at home! LOL
I LOVE this picture! SO fun!
You all were super excited about the funnel cakes!
And... ice skating! You skated REALLY well!
We went downtown Monroe to see the lights and to try to go to Your Pie but they were closed! GASP!
Y'all have fun together - for about 24 hours! LOL
We left Monroe for Covington to get Your Pie!
Sometimes you are just SILLY!
I love when you still snuggle with me!
We woke up and went to Costco! What were we thinking! LOL
We also had breakfast at Mama's Boy per Bennett's request!
And we went to Pilot Park in Monroe too!
We ate Japanese on B's birthday!
We painted pottery in Decatur too!
You are in a "copy Pops" phase!
Your Mama got this game for y'all to play on Christmas Eve!
You wanted to get your Mama a specific sweater you had seen. You were pretty insistent! LOL
Y'all were sweet to let me read you the daily Advent story. You actually were much better about listening than B was! LOL
Ready for our Christmas Eve service. We went to Church of the Grove for their service and it was wonderful!
I got some gingerbread for y'all to make with me. You were NOT a fan!
Hanging with Pops on Christmas Eve...
SUPER grateful that you and your family come to our house to spend the night! It's such a fun tradition! We put out reindeer food. This is the first year y'all haven't believed in Santa. It was kinda sad but y'all are growing SO much! Y'all did a great job with Truett and Thomason!
We made cookies for Santa! 🎅
Christmas morning is so special to me! I love to watch y'all come down the stairs!
Santa brought you coveralls and slippers like Pops! You can tell you are getting old! 😂
We lit the final Advent candle and read the Christmas story. Pops also read it Christmas Eve night. It's so important to remember the reason we celebrate. Your Mama does a great job of reminding you but I like to tell you too! And so does Pops!
You love to play with Truett!
Jesus is the reason for the season! Without his birth, there would be no Easter. It all was HIS plan to save us and for us to live eternal life with Him forever!
We got you some new arrows for your bow. We're planning to take you to Ace for some classes in January!
You are in charge of passing out presents! How did we get here already? ♥️
You are a fan of stockings! Your blow darts was one of your favorite presents you said!
We ate a really late breakfast... it was almost 2pm but it was a fun and relaxing morning! Your Mama made delicious cinnamon rolls!
Oh my heart! ❤️
It got right above freezing... just long enough for a family picture! ♥️
It wouldn't be Christmas morning without cinnamon rolls and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus!
You all opened presents at home the day after Christmas. Your Mama said you really loved your "What would Danny do" book! 📚
I'm glad you love the camera we got you!
Your Mama and Daddy also gave you a pottery wheel! SO COOL!
Sometimes I look at you in disbelief. You are so grown! You still give me the best hugs though and I'm grateful! 😊
We were able to spend about an hour outside on Christmas Day. The few days leading up to Christmas were the coldest since you've been alive - I believe. It got down to 8 with wind chills -10.
It makes my heart happy when you come hang out in our bedroom! I got you some paper birds to fly!
Practicing your bow!
We woke up to a dusting of snow this month...
You got a fishing vest too! You couldn't wait to show me and Pops!
You shot your dart on Pop's dart! What are the chances? LOL You love for Pops to play with you!
This time in 2021 we all had Covid. We got Covid the day after Christmas in 2021. It's making it's rounds again this year and SO many people we know were sick on Christmas. I am SO grateful that you had a healthy month and we all have really. We had a really nice Christmas and so much to be thankful for.
You LOVE to play outside and you and B are really cold weather people. One day it got to 60 and you told your Mama you had to go inside and cool off. ha! We had a REALLY cold week this year - the coldest in a while but otherwise it's been a pleasant month full of so many memories!
You are growing so fast! You are "past" toys for the most part but your Mama says you've really had fun playing with B's laser tag that we got him for Christmas. Most of your "things" were hunting and fishing things - at your request. We got you some pants to go woodcock hunting in. You are REALLY picky with your clothes and them being a little big almost made you say you wouldn't go... but you finally said you would wear them. ha! We gave you this camp shirt too! Always a good bet! 😂
I can't believe Christmas break is almost over. Y'all have had the best break! It's been so fun watching y'all play outside all throughout the day. If your Mama lets you... you love to come ring our doorbell. I'm enjoying it while I can. ♥️
Praising the Lord for a healthy month and asking for His favor in 2023 on our health. Praying you will grow in your relationship with Him and that you will make some amazing friends at church this year. I feel like 2023 is going to be an AMAZING year. I can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do.
Happy 9 years and 9 months sweet boy and Happy NEW YEAR! It's supposed to be a soggy and rainy New Years Day. I'm grateful we will be home to celebrate.
I love you to the moon and back and back again!
