The HUGE news for the month is this:
"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Trikafta (elexacaftor/ivacaftor/tezacaftor), the first triple combination therapy available to treat patients with the most common cystic fibrosis mutation. Trikafta is approved for patients 12 years and older with cystic fibrosis who have at least one F508del mutation in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, which is estimated to represent 90% of the cystic fibrosis population."
Thankful doesn't BEGIN to express how we are feeling. We've waited for this moment since you were born.
Life changing! We are praying this drug will be approved for your age (6-12) sooner than later. We are SO encouraged by the ones we know that have improved so much on this medicine.
Thank you, Lord, and thank you to the CF Foundation for ALL they do for you and all with CF!
Dee Dee and Pops signed up to go back to Washington, DC in February 2020, so we can speak on your behalf. We are praying for a CURE and for the 10% of the people that aren't able to take this new breakthrough drug.
You go back to clinic in November.
We are praying:
* For weight gain - your appetite has been good and we're praying you haven't grown more than you've gained in weight
* For a healthy fall and winter
* For your cough to clear up without medicine or a hospital admission
* Your cultures to be clear
* For the drug to help SO many and for the FDA to approve quickly for your age
* For your friend choices and your decisions
* For your Mommy and Dada as they work to keep you healthy
* For your Mom's job and being able to work from home more soon
Thank you, Lord, for a healthy month. You have had a cough but you seem to be getting better.
I pray you have an awesome, healthy, November!
Always know your Dee Dee loves you and prays for you daily! Always and forever!
