4 years and 2 months... And a good report at your CF Clinic visit this month!

YOU are growing so much sweet, Aspen! It seems like this month you turned into a full fledge little boy... your logic skills are really developing, your sense of humor and sarcasm is coming in to play and you're learning to "only kid"! You are beginning to really develop your personality and it's SO cute to watch. I'm not sure I've ever seen someone that loves the outside, insects and all creatures living more than you! LOL We got you this net while we were camping in April and you have certainly gotten your monies worth. You love to catch Charlie and really anything moving. You love butterflies but if you see a moth... you call it a butterfly moth. ha!

This has been a full, fun and healthy month and we couldn't be more grateful. SO excited for long days... but you're not so happy going to bed before the sun goes down. :)

Looking for butterflies and insects is something you could do ALL day and some days you do!

You and Bennett love to see what your findings are...

I love to watch you have enough room to roam and roam...

Your Mommy loves to play with y'all! I love to watch you run! It's good for your lungs!

May has been such a funny month. It has been cold...and it's been in the 90's too!

You don't just want to SHOW us your cricket... you want us to be friends! :)

I love your sweet smile!

Co-Chri is such a huge sport!

We've had lots of picnics in the yard or driveway this month... Dada and Pops have been working on a garage for our camper!

Just another day to catch insects...

You love to play in the water but you do NOT like to get your head wet! Too funny!

Happy faces!

You want everyone to take turns helping you catch something! :)

You caught a butterfly...

You went with me to get MY hair cut and you thought if I got mine cut... so should you! LOL I couldn't resist taking you.

You were so proud!

We went to Chick-Fil-A afterwards...

It's been so warm... we decided to open the pool! You picked out this scuba diver set while we were at TJ Maxx (or PJ Maxx as you like to call it)...

You and Bennett came to Dee Dee's house to make something for your Mommy for Mother's Day...

We played and ate gummy worms...

And we swung on Dee Dee's swing with my Ree Ree and Papa's picture on it...

I love to tell you about them. Ree Ree is where I picked out the name Dee Dee!

Paw Paw brought some gravel over for our new cover... you were fascinated!

We went to Mellow Mushroom in Decatur for Mother's Day...

And we went to the Farmer's Market... You weren't so sure about the crawfish! HA!

You wanted some raspberries! You are a fruit boy to the core.

Your Dada made us breakfast on Mother's Day! YUM! He's such an awesome cook!

You love to pick dandelions from our yard and give them to me and your Mommy! SO sweet!

We went to Lake Varner on Mother's Day for a picnic... so relaxing! When you ask to take a picture... Dee Dee jumps on the idea! :)

You love to play with Bow Valley or Gunner when he comes over!

It's taking you a little while to warm up to the water but you're getting there! You love to hang-out on the steps! :)

You wanted me to hold your grasshopper and I think you were shocked when I agreed to! TRUE LOVE! :)

Dada rented a bob-cat to move some gravel around. You LOVE to help! Just like your Dada!

You have the best Mommy and Dada! They love you far too much to let you get away with not listening or having good manners! You're having a "come to Mommy" moment.

Makes my heart happy to see you and Bennett playing on your fort...

You are such a climber and such a "sure footed" little mister!

YES! You sure are big and strong! LOL

Another day... another bug!

Yay! After a few times in the pool... you are jumping in. Well... some days! Some days you do great and some days you prefer the steps but either way... you LOVE the pool!

May is CF Awareness month and also our CF walk! I will do ALL that I can for a CURE for you sweet Aspen... as long as I have breath.

I love our shirt designs! YES! You are a fighter!

You made a helicopter but were shy to show everyone!

All for YOU, Aspen! Team Aspen is amazing and we couldn't be more grateful! We raised almost $15,000 this year for a CURE! We earned another tent this year for your team... "Aspen is Growing Like a Tree!" I love you, Aspen and so do SO many people that want a cure for you!

You have SO many people that are fighting for YOU!

The walk was at a new location this year! Suwanee Town Center. We loved the new location and Dee Dee and Pops LOVE you!

Your Mommy and Dada fight hard to keep you healthy every day!

You love Raegan...

After the walk we went to the Mall of GA with Nelly and Co-Chri...

You got your first pair of flip flops and you were SO excited. You said this was your "favorite pair of shoes ever!" You wore them with such pride ALL through the mall!

Dee Dee went into Oshkosh to look at the shorts and you asked the saleslady if they sold any shark bathing suits. All on your own! You are too funny! I'm paying and look how silly you two are!

We also let you JUMP in the mall!

and this time you decided you would flip! You are so brave!

We came home and wrestled in Dee Dee and Pop's bedroom floor!

Almost every afternoon, I get to play with you and Mommy and Bennett outside. You wanted to push me! TOO cute!

Mommy said... "rules are meant to be broken" when you decided to put YOUR couch on THE couch. hahahaha

Mommy spends a lot of her day talking for Rubble! ha! Your imagination is running wild these days...

You had your CF clinic visit this month... you have to wear a mask when you go so you don't spread or pick up germs!

You were 3 feet 6 inches and 36 pounds! SO proud of you and grateful. You are in the 75th percentile for height and you've moved up from a BMI of 9% to 20%! Thank you, Lord! We've been praying your weight would improve.

You don't blink an eye when the nurses come in...

This picture makes me laugh! Your oxygen level read 94% and they were trying to get it up! Too funny! It leveled out at 97%...

Clinic days are longggg but I wouldn't miss them unless I had to! We do the best we can to have fun in a really small room for hours!

They must think we are crazy... but you and B have fun chasing each other!

And I love to join in! We might as well play "dinosaurs" while we wait! LOL

Showing B how to clean his hands! LOL

Waiting is never fun... but we try! We THINK we might hear someone coming in!

Respiratory came in to get your PFT's... you are learning to keep your mouth around the plastic and to blow really hard. They don't put too much weight into it until you are 5 1/2 or 6, so you are off to an awesome start! You actually look forward to going in and "playing" this game. We're so grateful you did well AND look forward to it.

You have a competitive streak in you and I couldn't be more grateful...

Harder little Mister!

You even let them swab your throat without crying these days! You are BRAVE and I'm a proud Dee Dee! We are praying you don't culture anything.

What can we do with these clips... hmmmm!

LOL!

We're trying to teach you the right "amount" for your hands! HAHA!

Research came in and THIS time... they want blood from Mommy for a study they are doing.

You were so excited for Dr. S to come in and we were SO excited that she said you sounded "clear as a bell!" The new super CT scanner didn't make it to CHOA so she decided to do your first CT scan at your next appointment in August. That will be your annual appointment with blood-work and the whole sha-bangle! :)

She wanted to feel your tummy... and check your liver!

You LOVE Charlie so much and really want us to love him too! :)

You are a sweet boy!

Loving some worms... LOL

Bennett doesn't quite love Charlie and insects as much as you do! I wonder why. haha

What are puddles good for? Jumping in them of course!

I love how you love to help! You are helping Pops put together a new swing we got!

Your fort makes our back yard slide look miniature but y'all still use it when you're here!

I love when you jump in Pop's lap for no reason...

Playing asleep with your Dada!

Y'all are so funny!

Happy Birthday, Pops! We love POPS!

I had to bribe you to take this picture but I'll take it... you had far better things to do... like swim!

and find the shark on the bottom of the pool!

I asked you for a hug and you decided to snuggle with me... my favorite!

Learning to play corn-hole.... ! You're good!

Swinging in Dee Dee's new swing!

Memorial Day week/weekend... Mommy and Dada's 5th anniversary, Pop's birthday AND we found out that Nelly and Co-Chri are having a BOY! Thomason Gentry Driggers! You were the only one that guessed a boy. This was on our way to find out the gender. We took a Starbuck's break!

After finding out about Nelly's baby... you went fishing with Dada and Bennett! We stopped by to see you and you had JUST caught this bass! So proud!

You have so much personality... so many funny facial expressions! You keep us all laughing! These are just a few of the funny things you said this month....

* In your angry voice to Pops... "You did not listen to me! You were supposed to wait for me to come out of the potty store!" (Aka... the bathroom!) LOL

* To Bennett... "Get UP!!!! You have 2 feet... now use them! I'm the coach!!!"

* You told me that Dada had black friends and they love to give you high fives. I thought that was cute and figured you were learning the difference in looks between skin tones. THEN... we were in Publix and we passed a "black" family and you said HELLO (friendly as always)... except you said..."I said HEY to the black people" as we passed them! Gasp! Too funny!

* Talking about Nelly being pregnant to your Mommy.... "I was in your belly and I came out because I was like...where AM I" hahaha

* Talking to Bennett... "Talk to us SLOWEERRR! We can't understand you!"

* You told me that I was "driving you crazy!" You followed it up really quickly with a "I'm just kidding!" You are learning to kid and we're trying to teach you when to kid and when to NOT! hahaha

We are SO grateful that you are doing so well. Dr. S said that it was "truly amazing" that you have done so well. We are grateful to the Lord and pray He will continue to watch over you.

If you're following Aspen's "journey", we would really appreciate your prayers:

* Aspen is flying to Colorado with his Mommy and Dee Dee and Pops. Please pray he will fly well and that he will stay healthy and not have any adverse affects from flying or altitude

* Aspen goes back to the CF Clinic in August and will have his first CT scan with dye. We're praying that his lungs will show clear as possible

* Aspen will begin going to Sunday school for the first time EVER! He is SO ready. We're praying his immune system will fight hard to keep him as well as possible

* Aspen will start pre-school in August. We're praying for understanding teachers and parents to what CF is. We're praying he will love school and will be as healthy as possible!

* We will have Aspen's recent cultures back soon. We pray he doesn't culture anything!

* Continue to pray that his weight will stay up and that his appetite will do well!

* Pray for Lindsey and Chris as they care for him every day... for strength and determination

We couldn't be more grateful to EVERYONE that keeps Aspen in their prayers!

Aspen.... your Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again! I can't wait to travel with you. We got you your first pair of chaco's and you think you can't wear them until we go to Colorado and climb mountains! I LOVE how you pay attention to details. :)  I pray you will have a healthy month and am SO grateful for YOU!

I love you sweet boy! SO much! Happy 4 years and 2 months....
