3 years and 4 months...such a BIG boy you are!

Little Mister!  I can't believe how BIG you are getting.  You are so independent. Everything needs to be done "all by yourself!" AND this month you are potty trained. You learned so quickly once you were ready. You love "prizes" and you love to come to Dee Dee's house. I hope you'll always love coming to see Dee Dee and Pops!

And speaking of Dee Dee and Pops.... my heart is SO happy to look out the window and see you two coming up the hill to see us. You're getting so big, that Mommy will send you off "up the hill" to Dee Dee's house and you come for a visit. :) You don't like to go up through the grass.... you like to take the driveway ALL the way around. SO CUTE!  You like clean hands (which is an AWESOME thing for you) and you have to have socks or shoes on. You don't like to play without a shirt either. You're very much against an afternoon nap but occasionally you'll take one if you have a lot going on.

We have been swimming this year more than all the years in the past combined. I'm so glad you love the pool.  You love to get in and out but you still don't like to jump in. I'm sure that's coming soon.

You went fishing with your DaDa and reeled in your first fish all by yourself.

I love how you love to fish!

Dee Dee doesn't swim every time but I loved getting in the pool with you this day! :)

You love your water soaker...

and.... riding in the boat with your DaDa

Happy 4th of July! Your DaDa put the blueberry star on top and you helped!

SO PROUD! :)

Family time is the best!

You were in a water battle with Pops against Co-Chri! SO FUN!

This cracks me up! You were catching the ball! HA

My goodness you are so cute!

Matching 4th shirts are so sweet!

We went to Bethlehem to see the fireworks and you were able to BOUNCE! You love LOVE to bounce and slide!

Boy was it hot! You were fanning off your Mommy!

Time for the fireworks... They weren't your favorite!

So me and you got in the truck...

And this is what we thought of the grass catching fire. LOL!

SO much use out of the pool! :)

Mommy and DaDa went out and we went swimming! :)

Your DaDa made a homemade tent to play under while Mommy was at church...

Happy Birthday, Nicole! :)

You loved playing with Summer and Steven...

You want to jump off so badly but you just can't quite get there. You love to kick your feet and get around really well though.

Eating a cupcake that Aunt Nelly made...

We love Chipotle...

and you loved sharing your guacamole with B!

Dee Dee and Pops stopped and bought you and Bennett a balloon for being so good!

A fun Saturday morning with your Mommy and Dada bouncing!

You had your annual CF clinic appointment...

We had to go to CHOA first to get a chest x-ray

Having you grab my finger while we are walking makes this Dee Dee's heart so happy!

This is the first x-ray that you didn't have to be held down for. Me and Mommy were so proud of you! Mommy took you to the CHOA gift shop and you got to pick a prize!

We went to clinic and you were running a 100 temperature. You had to wear a mask and you were SO BIG!

Your eyes look so weak! You had already finished 3 rounds of anti-biotics.

You are finally too big for the baby scale! They wanted to try anyway....
But look at you... you are now measured like a BIG boy! You were 38.66 inches and in the 60th percentile for height and 31.75 pounds and 39th percentile for weight. Your weight to length ratio was 23rd percentile. You were down "some" but we were SO grateful for how well you've done because you've been sick for 2 months.

You've grown up so much. This is the first time they were able to take your blood pressure and get your oxygen without a fight too. You were 96%.

Waiting at the CF clinic can take SO long....

But we had as much fun as possible entertaining ourselves...

and you got some phone time for being so good!

So many people come in and out....

And respiratory takes a swab to see if you "culture" anything. You opened your mouth right up and PRAISE THE LORD, you didn't culture anything. We are SO grateful.
The nutritionist came in to check on you too...

And you even went to the potty for the first time away from home or Dee Dee's! SO big!

I love to watch you talking to the doctor...

Dr. S says that your lungs sound clear and your chest x-ray only shows a couple of mucus spots on your upper right lobe. We were SO grateful. She thinks you might have more allergies/asthma issues going on right now instead of CF. Normally that wouldn't be a good thing, but we will take it! #PRAISE She gave you another round of Bactrim,  steroid and inhaler and increased chest therapy. You go back in 5 weeks vs 3 months. You have been so sick since May 9th and are finally starting to get MUCH better. We are so thankful that she didn't seem all that concerned.

She wanted to increase your enzymes but as soon as Mommy did... you started having trouble with constipation for the first time. You had several sleepless nights and some pain. Mommy gave you some Miralax and has cut back on the enzymes again. We will see what Dr. S says when you go back in August.

Time to give blood and you stuck your arm OUT! I teared up watching how grown up you've become!

It hurt and you teared up but you didn't fight.

You were SO big that Dee Dee got you a fishing pole and took you to get a prize!

You chose a microphone... LOL

We also went to Sam's on a Dee Dee/Aspen date and you got a Spider Man helicopter and a book!

Pops helping you fly Spider Man...

You and B love your Mommy so much! I love to watch y'all play!

You love to come back to Dee Dee's bedroom and watch a movie! :)

We went to the "Depot" as you love to call it (Home Depot)

And Dee Dee bought you your first COKE icee.... LOL

You are starting to do some "school" with Mommy. You've been working on your letters and counting and you love to paint with watercolors...

Watching a movie with Dee Dee (The Turtles movie) and holding my finger! LOVE! :)

I love you SO much Little Mister!

I love to listen to you laugh and play and be silly!

Speaking of silly... your new thing is to act like a LION and ROAR as you chase Pops around the yard. LOL

You say the funniest things! You keep us all laughing! You're picky who can sing with you and who can't! LOL You love to play outside, to fish, to go swimming, to run your John Deer tractor. You love to catch lightening bugs and chase dragon flies. You love to climb on all "fours" and roar like a lion and you couldn't be any sweeter. Your stubborn streak is getting better but you and Bennett keep your Mommy on her toes. You are so active. You want what B has and usually get it. We will see how long that lasts. B is starting to "fight" back. LOL

It's SO hot outside. We haven't been able to play outside until late in the day. I'm not ready for fall... but I'm ready for some good outside temperatures so you can play and play.

A fellow CF mother posted this picture from her Bible. It spoke volumes to me.

"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!" Psalm 150:6
David tells us to PRAISE the LORD.... to praise Him at all times!  Today I am praising Him for your great report. I'm praising Him that you are better. I am praising Him for the time that you CAN play outside and it's my prayer that no matter what tomorrow holds... that we will PRAISE Him. I am praying that as you grow older you will see God's hand in your life and with EVERY breath that fills your lungs... you will use that breath to shout His greatness!

You are precious, Aspen! Dee Dee loves you to the moon and back and back again. You are SO loved by so many and prayed for continually by MANY! One day you will understand all the prayers lifted to our heavenly Father in your name. I hope you'll look back and be blessed by knowing this.

I love you SO!

If you are reading this... will you join us in prayer this month for:

* Aspen's August appointment to go well and for his cough to go away
* Pray that he will gain weight
* Pray that his enzyme situation will get worked out and he won't have stomach pain
* For Aspen to remain healthy
*Pray for a CURE and for the advancements made every day with donations made by many of you
* Pray for Lindsey and Chris as they care for Aspen...emotionally and physically
* Pray in advance for Aspen's attitude as he begins to understand more about CF and how it affects him

We are SO grateful for each person that prays and asks about sweet Aspen!
